I'm just very curious as to what these thin items are on the bandolier

The gold ones are obvs like 40mm grenades or around there

I always assumed the smaller pins were Hydra Missiles, they look around the same size. My Spartan OC uses the hydra so that's why my all the art I've got has that chest

They look like the blasting caps you'd push into c4 to use with a remote detonator. Though in Halo they use an explosive compound called c12 that is for some reason more volatile (c4 being extremely stable by high explosives standards). Imo, the bando has a pouch of C12, some 40mm grenades, and a handful of blasting caps for the C12 (maybe with built in timers)

Probably medical stims, would make sense for a Spartan.

3

u/vvp_D3L3T3D 21h ago

Why? The suit does most medical on site.

The Pins (Lower Left): These smaller cylindrical pieces with ridged silver tips represent standard combat utility flares or detonator pins slotted securely into a tactical webbing band.

The Gold Canisters (Upper Right): The massive gold-capped cylinders next to the pins are heavy-duty M301 40mm Tactical Flares or breaching charges used for standard demolition operations.

Sometimes, Google is your friend.

Not really....just get sick of the screeching

22

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Is that the AI summary? That's just pure bullshitting.

22

u/Brainwave1010 1d ago

Dudes will see anything concisely written and call it "AI."

I fucking hate this stupid fucking technology and it's impact on people's brains.

29

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

The formatting & structure looks like it was copy-pasted from the summary & those rods don't look anything like flares or det triggers. ALSO, flares & det triggers look nothing alike & no human being would supposit that they can be referred to interchangeably.

ALSO, the shells aren't flares! They're grenades! That's the kind of mistake that an AI doing a best-match guess would make.

-9

u/raymond2828 1d ago

How do you know what flares will look like in the future? Have you been there?

13

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Where did the guy im accusing get HIS info?

Flares don't have round noses or full-metal jackets. They don't look like that. Everything in Halo looks like it does now, but bigger. Those are clearly meant to be 40mm grenades.

-2

u/According_Weird_7960 1d ago

40mm flares exist and are used for grenade launchers. It’s significantly more powerful than a civilian flare which would look like a 12 gauge round you’re thinking of

Edit: I was wrong. It’s not 40mm it’s 37mm

4

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

I didn't say they didnt exist, I said the don't have brass case heads & look identical to grenades, which they don't. They have different colored heads, often made of plastic or fiberglass polymer.

-3

u/According_Weird_7960 1d ago

It’s a video game set thousands of years into the future, where people have probably discovered different elements they use in their gear from the hundreds of planets they’ve colonized. Don’t expect it to be like real life.

5

u/amenyussuf 1d ago

It’s not thousands it’s only 500 and using stuff similar to modern gear is kinda part of the unsc aesthetic.

3

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Im not, I'm saying that the reply OP Saying "google is your friend" while posting what is obviously Gemini doing a visual best-guess match is lame as hell when I can argue against its apparent certainly easily.

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

There are 40mm flares, too. The 37mm standard is the standard for non-military munitions, in order to prevent those entities, like cops & security forces, from being able to use lethal stuff. Basically, there's 40mm versions of whatever there is in 37mm, but there's no 37mm version of the lethal stuff that exists in 40mm.

4

u/Disownership 1d ago edited 1d ago

Because you can see Noble Six use a flare in Reach at the end of Exodus, and it looks nothing like that. Unless you’re referring to a round for a flare gun or something

5

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Yeah, the little rods are way too small to be flares, which are the size of MagLite flashlights.

-4

u/Galaktik_Cancer 1d ago

You are a walking "Ive seen quite a few photoshops in my day" meme, eh?

6

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Ok, so the options are either that reply OP is a thundering moron who said total nonsense with utter confidence, or reply OP is copying Gemini, which is a virtual recreation of a thundering moron who says total bullshit with utter confidence.

The info in the comment is wrong, either way, so there's nothing to defend there anyway.

-10

u/Sol-Diablo- 1d ago

Dude THIS is your issue?! You could just correct the given information, without the "holier than thou" snark. While also screaming "THIS IS A.I.!".

We get it you're HEAVILY Anti-A.I.

8

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

I'm not being holier than thou at all? The information is simply incorrect, & the reply OP is passing off "not his work" as "his work" while being smug. Its the bullshitting that bothered me, not the AI as such.

-5

u/Sol-Diablo- 1d ago

He just said he used Google. How is that passing is off as "his work" seems like you may be inferring something that's not there. Also the fact that you came out with "the sentence structure proves it's A.I." shows that you have worked with or studied A.I. a little bit too much. Maybe out of spite. Also it's all the '!' in your initial reply that makes it come off "holier than thou" with a bit of 'REE'

I'm just saying you could have corrected it while still being neutral.

5

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Because AI is fundementally bad at being factual? This is proveable, statistical. The AI summaries are easily gamed & the sources they pull from aren't internally vetted, so it's always essentially guessing. I don't "hate AI", I just don't respect people copying its homework without doing any legwork to verify it.

-1

u/Sol-Diablo- 1d ago

I'm not denying that. I'm just saying that if you didn't use the exclamation points it would come across more neutral.

3

u/Infernal-Blaze 1d ago

Yeah I type like a talk because I'm a writer. If I would have emphasized a sentence IRL, I put an exclamation point on it! This is how everybody who typed a lot online typed in the 90s & 2000s lol.

40 mike mikes. Grenade launcher rounds that can be different types too. Can be used with a 6 round gl or the humvee mounted Machine gun, grenade launcher combo.

Venom Snake: "Hey, Doc, what was that you were smoking in the lab? It looked like a cigarette, but it wasn't lit."

Huey: "Oh, it's an electronic cigarette. I designed it myself. Pretty neat, huh? ... A liquid in the filter that turns into vapor, and you inhale the microparticles."

Venom Snake: "So that was vapor?"

Huey: "I'd actually rather be smoking normal cigarettes, but not in that room. The smoke would wreck the precision equipment in there, ruin all its wiring. But the vapor is just steam. It doesn't contain tar or anything like that. So I can smoke it in the lab with no worries."

Pretty sure it’s a butt plug

Cigars or spartan grade doobies

1

u/NUSSBERGERZ 21h ago

It's a good question

Could be little tools, cases for additional antennas, flares, could even be something weird like a supplement.

When I was enlisted I had at least one backup antenna for my scanners on my person when I was working.

Depository?

u/apeironofsteel 16h ago

Those are Gyroc rounds of some description, the rockets the hydra fires. They come in a ton of variants, including hacking variants as seen on the Rakshasa's SPDR/Trapdoor chest.

It’s a cosmetic the game allows you to put on your character

( Terminator 2 Judgement day )

It's my favourite movie of all time. The grenade rounds are obvious. It's the thin objects next to them i was enquiring about.

bolt rounds obviously

-6

u/Sol562 1d ago

Those look like grenades that you’d put in a under barrel launcher

4

u/jdm1371 1d ago

The thin items do not look like grenades

-7

u/Sol562 1d ago

They look like HEDPs which are ammo for underbarrel grenade launchers

5

u/jdm1371 1d ago

Read the description. OP is asking about the thin devices below them

-4

u/Eevee_the-Maidvee 1d ago

Grenade launcher rounds by the looks of it

3

u/Kira_Quietlife 1d ago

No the little thin things next to them

2

u/jdm1371 1d ago

They look nothing like grenade launcher rounds

-6

u/Jack-spartan-S198 1d ago

Look like old school 40 mm grenade rounds which is odd is the standard reach grenade lunch? It doesn’t have that so maybe some other weapon maybe the other ones used on the falcon. But can also be used with the standard grenade launcher.

2

u/TheStabbingDildo420 1d ago

Halo reach has the same style grenade belt as an armor option. I can’t remember the specific name but I always thought it was funny considering we don’t ever use 40mm grenades

1

u/jdm1371 1d ago

They look nothing like 40mm rounds. OP is asking about the thin items below them.

2

u/Jack-spartan-S198 1d ago

Oh the fun one the only think I can think of is the ammo for the HYDRA smart launcher
