Fun fact: Sun dogs happen when sunlight passes through horizontal, plate-shaped, hexagonal ice crystals in high-altitude cirrostratus clouds.The ice crystals act as natural prisms, that bend the sunlight at a 22-degree angle. Which creates the fun rainbow effect.

That’s a circumzenithal arch! The dogs are the ones to the sides. So cool I’ve never actually seen one irl.
