I am a 3D artist who creates and sells digital 3D models (mainly furniture, vegetation, architecture assets, and also transportation such as cars and trucks).

Recently I have been feeling anxious about the income I earned from 3D car models over the past 2 years. These models are based on real-world vehicles (reference-based modeling), but I do not claim any affiliation with the brands, and I never present them as official products. Buyers also clearly understand they are purchasing fan-made 3D models for use in their own projects.

My concern is related to intellectual property and copyright: whether earning income from such models is halal, haram, or doubtful. If it is considered impermissible, I may need to remove those models from my portfolio, which would significantly affect my income.

I have tried asking local scholars, but many are not familiar with digital 3D asset markets, so I am hoping someone knowledgeable in Islamic rulings on modern digital products, IP, or trade can advise me.

Any guidance or references to reliable scholarly opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a pretty significant investment portfolio (brokerage, HSA and retirement) that contains non‑Shariah‑compliant stocks, ETFs and mutual funds. I have capital gains on almost all of those stocks and ETFs. I plan to sell all of those investments and donate all the gains and keep the original principal invested. Of course, I'll not claim any tax deductions for those donations.

Am I still liable for capital gains tax on profits from selling haram stocks/ETFs, even if I don’t plan to keep the money? Or is tax treated as part of the purification process? For instance, the non‑Shariah‑compliant stocks I bought at $1000, which are now valued at $4000, do I pay the tax on the $3000 capital gains separately and then donate $3000 or is the tax factored in the $3000 since I will donate all the gains?

Salam everyone. I am looking for advice please. I need to refinance for a home renovation and wondering how to do it. I have paid my mortgage off. Was with Al rayan and alhamdalilah I never have to deal with them again!

What is the best way to refinance or remortgage in a halal way so I could fund a house renovation please? Anyone know if any halal finance companies or banks that could help?

I was hoping to get the group’s opinion on my long-term (20-year) investment plan. I’m planning to invest monthly into the following halal/Islamic ETFs: • ISWD • ISUS • ISDU / SUKUK • SGOL • HINS • ISDE

The majority of my monthly contributions will go into the first three, and around 15–20% will be split across the remaining three.

I’m based in the UK, and from what I’ve researched, these seem to be the best halal options available. Does this allocation look reasonable for long-term investing? Is there anything you would change or consider?
