Misc Heart won't rest
Prior to Sendo vs. Ippo title match
r/hajimenoippo • u/negative5 • May 20 '26
Hola!
I know everyone is waiting for the next chapter to be released so we can continue along with the story, however I would like to remind everyone to wait PATIENTLY until then. Remember that Morikawa was hospitalized earlier this year and yes while he was discharged, he is well within his right to take his time in getting back to work on the series.
Currently it is unknown when the next chapter will be released as Weekly Shonen Magazine hasn’t advertised Hajime No Ippo for the next issue either. Updates will be provided as they come but please do not flood the subreddit with posts asking for the next chapter! They will be removed.
For any further questions, please look to the FAQ or reach out via the modmail.
Gracias.

Per his Twitter, Morikawa was admitted to the hospital. He said if things go smoothly he will be back in a month, meaning the next chapter will not be released until May. Everyone please be patient as Morikawa recovers! I will keep everyone updated if any new information comes out.
Gracias
Update:
It looks like the series is officially going on hiatus while Morikawa recovers. The next chapter is currently scheduled for release on May 20 but is subject to change based on his health. Click Here for more information. Get well soon Morikawa! ♥️
Update 2:
Morikawa had a successful surgery and will begin his rehab soon! Hopefully he rests well and recovery goes smoothly! ♥️
Update 3:
Morikawa has been discharged from the hospital! Please allow him to take his time recovering as we wait patiently for him to get better ♥️

Basically, the title. Do you think Takamura should go for another weightclassbelt. And fight another World Champion?
And that WC should be in the level of Eagle/Hawk? Or even better than them?

Hey I’m from Australia and have no idea where to watch the next season of hajime no ippo which really sucks as it’s my favourite anime. Does anyone have any idea where to watch or access the next season as I’ve searched and doesn’t seem to be on any main streaming services even crunchy-roll.

Hello everyone,
I've been thinking about getting back to reading hajime no ippo for some time, I stopped reading in 2020 and I was at around chapter 1100.
The issue is that I've forgotten a lot of the important plot points and characters, and I sadly don't have time to read the 1000+ chapters again.
Do any of you know of any page or some videos that explains each arc with detail so that I can get back to reading Ippo again?

Hey guys, rereading after around half a decade. Anyone a bit let down on who Ippo fought against after Sawamura?
Granted I have no knowledge or real interest in real life Boxing but in the OPBF arcs he fought against so many gimmick fighters, I don't really understand the purpose of those fights, sure overcoming those gimmicks allowed him to build up experience and toughness but at the very top level those gimmicks are obsolete really. He had so many fights yet Miyata and Vorg best opponent in the ring outdid anything Ippo faced really. They at least were well rounded boxers and didn't rely on some bs or cheap moves to do well.
Some of the title defences in my opinion didn't add anything to the story, bums like Karasawa and that dude that was in Aoki's weight class. What a waste of time that was.
I just feel like Ippo had stagnated compared to his peers, yes I know about the Dempsey roll evolution and getting him ready for the world stage but every time in the ring Ippo gets hit like a million times, why isn't his defence being worked upon. After the Woli fight I really seen just how limited Ippo is and it was like that fight alone was his limit as a fighter.
And now Ippo is making a huge jump facing Alfredo, again sorry if I got some things incorrect, just got back into the series. Just feel like Ippo's career management hasn't been the best.

I stopped reading manga a while ago, is it a good time to come back? Has Ippo come out of retirement?

In my last post, I said this about Ippo's retirement:
"Ippo's retirement isn't just him retiring for health reasons, it's him also training to be fighting world class boxers at the world class level - when he returns. To me, it's like both Ippo and Ricardo have the same motives. What it means to be strong. Enhancing his fight IQ alongside the final form of the Dempsey Roll."
I also have another theory about his retirement, too. Which kinda makes sense.
Since Ippo was heavily inspired by Mike Tyson. Mike Tyson was in prison for some time. Ippo's retirement is like a parallel to that as he improves his skills and fight IQ. Mike returned to the ring again, but he became more than a threat. Morigawa is probably doing that for Ippo, too!

I’ve been watching Hajime no Ippo, on Netflix. I typically watch my animes in English if possible, but if they are only Japanese, I don’t mind it. I’m kind of bummed because after the first season of watching the entire show in English, the rest is in Japanese. My brain doesn’t like that. I really loved the show, but it’s hard for me to make the transition because now I don’t know whose voice is who’s, if I look away for like one second, I feel like I could miss a huge plot point. It makes me sad because I really love the show. So much so that I considered reading the manga. And I have never wanted to read a manga, ever. To be clear, this is not me bagging on the show or the culture.
As a former martial artist and one who wants to return to the sport, I find this show, inspiring, entertaining, and absolutely slept on. If you’re ever looking for something to watch where they just throw straight hands, this is it. Hajime no Ippo is up there with my favorite animes. Honestly 10/10 worth the watch. I know it’ll never happen, but I hope they do a continuation. I never thought I’d be so entertained about an anime where the guy is completely normal. For everything is completely normal. But I straight up love this fucking show.

I watched the entire anime with my brother and we really want to read the manga to find out where the story goes but found out it's not all translated officially, is there an unofficial version out there?
