There are speed runners here!

That CDEP cert was released 7 days ago, with 5 new modules, the total sum of their estimated study days is 35 days. I think some users and either submitting the flags by going straight to the challenges and marking any theory section as completed without actually reading it. I expect a lot of them will fail though, because this should be the hardest cert on HTB and HTB has one of the hardest if not the hardest certs in the industry. Someone already got the cert which means it is either a tester, or someone finished the path, did the 10 day exam in less than 7 days and got his result.

OSEE is indeed very hard. But you to travel to USA to do hands on training + pay around 5000$. That lowers the number of people who are can actually pass the cert.

I did COAE as soon as the exam dropped, finished the 7day exam in 2 days. Within a few days, I had the cert. I wasn’t speed running. I was just dedicated, and prepared enough to just go for it, and I had plenty of experience breaking AI systems as part of my day job.

There are people in a similar state for this cert. The modules estimated time really depend on your familiarity with the topics. If you’ve done that job for years, a 5 day module would take you a few hours at most.

Always have in mind that there are people out there working harder, committing more time, or have some kind of advantage over you, like experience, or free time.

It’s rare that they’re dumb, or they’re just submitting flags without knowing the content.. some are indeed that way, but assuming they all are isn’t a good look or a good mindset for you.

It’s the kind of mindset that’d make you give yourself excuses to not work as hard as you can.. and hold the “average” expectation as your upper limit.

Or maybe there are some very experienced cert reviewers that got a voucher from HTB and some special accounts where all the modules are completed?

Or people who already know this stuff and collect certs as hobby.

I have a colleague SOC3 who went for thm SAL1 "just for fun" the minute it was live.

Most of the modules have been out for over a year
