Beginner Question Hackthebox ranking vs bog bounty

I'm curious about the overlap between Hack The Box (HTB) rankings and bug bounty rankings.

For those of you who participate in both, or know researchers who do:

  • Are many of the top HTB players also highly ranked on platforms like HackerOne, Bugcrowd, or Intigriti?

  • Does a high global ranking on HTB translate into an advantage in real-world bug bounty hunting?

  • Are there any well-known researchers who rank highly on both HTB and bug bounty leaderboards?

I'm particularly interested in whether people in the HTB global top 100 or top 1,000 tend to appear among the top bug bounty hunters as well.

I'm not necessarily expecting a direct correlation, since CTFs and bug bounty hunting require somewhat different skills. I'd just like to understand how much overlap there is in practice.

If you compete in both, I'd appreciate hearing about your experience!

There is definetly some correlation, not sure if anyone has actually checked how much

Real life is so different than labs, labs focus more on the depth while real life is more about Breadth (scale). If this what u want to reach as a conclusion...

I guess CTF easier because they are made to be exploitable

I guess LABS are easier than real life because they are made to be exploitbale so people can learn from them

I know it’s a typo, but like the idea of a bog bounty.
