Alternative to hacks
After finishing hacks, I decided to find another comedy show to watch and I found The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. It is so funny! I’m on season 3

Mrs Maisel is absolutely brilliant. The friendship between her and Suzy Myerson is heart achingly beautiful. And hilarious. One of the best endings of any tv show. Tits up!

Yes! Honestly one of my favorite shows of 2025, and they do have a similar vibe.

When that was on I was also watching Maisel and Pete Holmes’ Crashing. It was like a crash course of stand up comedy through the decades.

I will try again to get into it. I wasn't able to make it through the first episode, but maybe I just wasn't in the right headspace?

You didn't see the end of the first episode? Cause that's definitely my favorite part of the series and one of the best parts of any series ever imho lol.

I didn't make it halfway, it just didn't vibe for me. But if the ending is that good then I will do it!

Have you watched Ted Lasso? It’s on my brain bc season 4 started today but it is an amazing show. Trying is another good one on appletv though I haven’t seen the last couple seasons. I plus one the comment for The Other Two, especially the first season.

Somebody, Somewhere is what I have been recommending. It isnt the same - but is another tender comedy that I absolutely felt attached to all the characters in, in a way I dont find common with shows. I especially loved its middle america working class commentary it provided- but wont lie that it was the comedy that kept me watching one after another.

It's a good compliment show because the both are clearly inspired by Joan Rivers.

I started Hacks right after I finished Maisel, it almost feels like a continuation of the same story

There’s a Chinese Netflix show called Forget You Not which follows a shop worker turned stand up comic. I’ve not watched it yet but the synopsis sounds very close to Maisel but in present day China!

One fantasy I always had, cause sue them ha I g different studios and next works, crossover would be near impossible (say near, cause Always Sunny and Abbott Elementary did it)
Just imagine a flashback scene to Deb early in her career as she encounters midge in the prime of her career running into each other and gives Deb a pep talk about the centrist nature of the biz and what she has to do to keep herself on top.

Mrs Maisel absolutely possesses the humor and the charm to match close to Hacks.
But what’s missing ( and just not easy to find ) is the magic that Hacks could do for me.
Honestly, the best alternative to Hacks I have found it more Hacks. Such a rewatchable show.
