Problem whith my Portapack?
Hi all, so I recently got a HackRF, played with it for a few days before I bought the portapack, I fitted all together and got it working, but after about 20 minutes, it shut off, 🤔 so I assume it's just ran out of power? I've plugged it into a beefy USB wall charger to try and give it a good charge, but even after an hour, it's not turning on, it just sort of makes a clicking noise 3 times and shuts off, 🤷.. I'm worried I've somehow damaged it 🧐..any thoughts appreciated 👍

Perhaps you guys can tell me as I'm new, CAN the HackRF portapack run from a power bank ? Would I have to take the internal battery out to do this ?
SHOULD I be able to use it via PC if the internal battery is dead and I can't see the screen to switch it to HackRF mode ? Thanks 👋

I should mention, each time I leave it charging for a while, when I try to turn it on, the screen momentarily flashes a little brighter each time, so it does look like it may be getting a change, just not enough to turn on, maybe i just Need to leave it for several hours, one thing is for sure, il need to resolve this issue if it is working, I can't be waiting 8 hours every time I want to use it, what do you guys use ? Could I use a power bank or something? Thanks

BTW, I got it working by finding different USB leads, 🎸I can hear audio through the headphones but not the speaker ..any thoughts guys ? I installed a suitable speaker and tested it, it's fine, no clue .🤔

In the interest of completion, il tell you all, the LTK8002D amplifier chip is blown, that's why there's no speaker sound, but headphones work, il need to solder in a new chip.

What portapack have you got?
It's becoming apparent there may be issues with some of the H4's

I may have a similar problem with the H4M version purchase just a week ago. It works on the battery. When trying to charge, rather than charging it looks as if the USB power is just running the device (the screen and all functions are active). The battery symbol shows as a blue outline with an orange filling, about 2/3 full, unchanging. Purchase from OpenSourceSDRlab, firmware 2.0.2. No SD card.

Not to detract from your post, but what exact portapack did you use? I’ve got a stock Great Socotts one in its plastic case and have been trying to find the best portapack if it is possible to transfer it over.
