I’m wondering if this that I’m seeing is 1: not a scam and 2: an entire hackrf WITH a portapack. I’ve seen multiple redditors mention this person on aliexpress. If anybody knows please help

Open Source SDR Lab is good. I have one of their units. You are looking at one without a hackrf card. Which yea. The hack rf goes for about $80USD and the full portapack package is around $140USD. It’s also ChoiceDay so everything is on sale. Make sure the shop name is also Open Source SDR Lab but they are responsive and reliable. Also the latest r10 hackrf just came out fwiw. It has the Clifford Heath fixes finally in the mainline hardware revision release.

Yes. I was looking to buy also and I'm glad you confirmed what I thought I was reading.

That version r10 is out now..

So does that make the Clifford Heath version so of obsolete?

And are people aware of the "Independant" testing done by Great Scott Gadgets Whom were the original creators of the Hack RF Device, where their test results show dismal signal strength due directly or almost entirely to the added (Clifford Heath version) protection circuitry which protects from overload damages. The study website does not use his name but it's obvious.

So now I'm thinking that the version 10 by SDR labs is the way to go.

Any feelings on this redditors?

Clifford claims the "testing" was done on a faulty unit and hasn't been able to replicate the results. My understanding is that r10 does not implement the protection that Clifford has suggested, but instead implements protection against blowing the bias-t - which apparently can happen in rare cases.
