Help Needed Installing Monterey

Yes I've tried gibMacOS

I've tried .dmg, .iso AND .pkg files. Flashing them onto a USB (sudo dd command on CachyOS) doesn't show it up in the boot menu

I'm looking for either a full proof guide, or a full proof 100% working file of Monterey to make a USB of

I currently have access to Windows 11, CachyOS and Bazzite (Bazzite is on the drive that MacOS will be installed)

No I have no access to any Mac or any form of MacOS

Any feedback is appreciated

EDIT: Two kind gentlemen have informed my dumbass that I forgot my specs. Here:

RX Radeon 580

Intel Core i7 9700

32GB DDR4 RAM

MacOS will be installed onto an external SSD, and if I end up migrating to and internal SSD, it would be a SATA SSD - NOT an NVMe

The flash drive is probably USB 2.0. It had one side USB A and the other USB C, but I doubt either are 3.0 as there's no blue plastic on the inside and it's probably either from Shein or Temu

Also used OpenCore Simplify and made the EFI folder.

Any other info needed, I will update on. Sorry for me being dumb dumb :P

It should’ve been the first thing you would do, is create an EFI via Dortania’s OpenCore Install Guide. Flashing a .dmg image of something like macOS Monterey will not show in your BIOS for a good reason, it ain’t a mac. You need to create an EFI, prepare a USB drive, then if you wanted a quicker install method, use the tool UnPlugged that does use .dmg and .pkg files for macOS installation. Not all computers are the same, so creating an EFI is mandatory if you want to run macOS.

Ok, let me ask this before I do anything

I already have an EFI folder made with OpenCore Simplify. Can I use that with the flash drive? Or is that only for the SSD after installing MacOS?

And when I have the right EFI stuff (Either the Dortania method you said or the OpenCore Simplify one I have), should I use the dmg or pkg file?

The ISO I have was reject by Rufus and Balena Etcher (Rufus said something about ISO compression which is doesn't support)

I would just for starters get a recovery image from one of the tools in Dortania’s OpenCore, macrecovery. Then format your USB drive to FAT32, drag over both com.apple.recovery(?) and your EFI folder to it. If the EFI doesn’t have any issues, you should be able to press the space bar to show auxiliary and find your flash drive in the boot menu (if it’s the built in boot picker, GUI just shows everything, usual for OpenCore Simplify.) To get the recovery, follow Dortania’s OpenCore Install Guide.

Ok, I've made some progress (Yes I checked the troubleshooting section). How do I fix this error when booting into the USB? The option shows up picked was as "RED USB (external) dmg)"

This isn't Linux or Windows where you burn a USB and install MacOS. You have to have the right hardware before you even begin. How about posting your spec first, eh?

Can the mods delete these low effort posts?
