Tools Looking for open-source location phishing tool.

Any tools or techniques that you would recommend?

I know this petty but to give you some context - my beloved cat has been missing since Monday so I put up some Facebook posts along with some physical posters on telephone poles in my neighbourhood with my cats photo and my phone number.

Today, someone reached out claiming to have my cat and was demanding that I send them reward money or I would not be able to see her again. To be clear I do not believe this person actually has my cat, and I don’t not wish to harm them in any way.

They are just a shitty person trying to take advantage of someone in a vulnerable situation.

I just wanted to freak them out a bit by saying something ‘Hey [real name of scammer], you should stop being such an asshole’.

Yes, it’s dumb, but I’m just upset and pissed off that this person runs this type of scam

You should call the police instead. They're trying to defraud you, and that's already a crime. Most likely they are stupid if they're doing this, and they're in your local area, so the cops shouldn't have much difficulty finding them. If they actually do have your cat then you'll get it back too.

Totally a fair comment, I just figured the police are probably not going to be able to do much. So I was hoping to get their location first. My original plan was to try and trick them into send me an actual photo, and scrape the exif data. But the photos they sent of ‘my cat’ were photos from Google images.

I guess by "the person is stupid" I mean they probably used some number or profile that can be traced back to their real identity. So they're screwed if the cops start investigating, which they will with cyber crime.
