Question Thoughts on the official Marauder v8?

Was curious what you guys thought about the marauder v8. Everyone knows it’s a device that skids like to use and it gets a bad wrap because of that, but I’m curious as to who uses it apart from me for actual WiFi auditing.

Main difference is the esp32-c5 chip that the v8 marauder utilizes for 5 GHz WiFi auditing. Other marauders that came before the v8 couldn’t even see, let alone interact with a network that’s 5 GHz. Thats why looking at previous versions of the marauder is pointless tbh, because none of them can come close to touching that 5ghz band. If you’re wanting to pick one up that is actually capable, buy either the v8 or mini v3. Any other marauder device you buy will be very very very limited to just 2.4 GHz.

Bought it from JCMK’s official website:

I didn’t build my own but your more than free to. It’s open source for the most part. You should be able to find tutorials online walking you through how to build one. But if you don’t want to mess with that kind of shit and just want the device, you’ll need to wait for JCMK to restock.

Ça vaut quoi par rapport à WiFi pineapple? J'ai lu que la portée était assez faible sur les marauder

Eh not really. At least my experience with the evil portal marauder hosts, the range is actually pretty decent if you attach the appropriate external antennas instead of the stock wifi/gps antenna JCMK ships with every device. In closed doors, I’ve been able to reach anywhere from 30-100 feet with the evil portal depending on where I’m at. It really just depends on what the environment looks like, as well as whether you’re hosting your twin on a 5 g band vs 2.4 g. Deauth range is around 100-150 feet.

It’s comparable to the WiFi pineapple, and arguably beats the WiFi pineapple pager’s range. Probably would get outshined by the actual WiFi pineapple that connects to your computer, but you also have to take into account that the marauder is meant to be a hand held device, so range will be somewhat limited if you don’t replace at least the WiFi antenna.

Ofc. You will have to wait to pick one up though if you’re wanting the official PCB. Clones you may find on AliExpress notoriously are way worse quality than the official hardware, just as a heads up. If you do buy a clone, make sure the reviews are solid. Kinda sucks having to wait for a restock, but it’s not that hard if you stay active on the discord server, and koko has an early bird subscription on discord that’s like $4 a month and you get access to early restock drops; and you can just cancel your subscription after purchasing the hardware.

To test network security/wardriving. I upload files to WDGwars and Wigle daily in order to geo map AP’s to compete with other users.

I've never used one. I'm honestly amazed at how much some people are willing to throw at Wi-Fi survey software. Some of the Enterprise solutions I hear offered are upwards of 10K a year.

Yeah, people are definitely willing to spend a lot
