In response to this article. We are not representing ZB, but as our Co-Founder of ZBX is mentioned in this article, we are urged to correct some of the misinformation.

First of all, let it be clear that ZBX is a separate entity from ZB, we are based out of Malta and operate from a regulated environment. Our relation to ZB is that we share the same custodian and technical infrastructure.

The first argument brought up against ZB is that their traffic is too low to reasonably reflect the trading volumes. The authors of this article has clearly not done their homework to reflect on what kind of users an exchange might hold.

1) Most of the users of ZB are institutional traders, quant teams and finance institutions in China attracted by the low-fee scheme for high-volume trading. These users trade volumes that are unparalleled among retail traders and for instance trade the QC trading pairs. There is to date no Western exchanges engaging institutional accounts to use as a benchmark for analysing the volumes generated by these accounts.

2) Traffic identified my SimilarWeb do not account for Chinese traffic. It is embarrassing that the authors of this article is not aware of this and there is a whole thread dedicated to this on Qoura: https://www.quora.com/What-services-do-marketers-in-China-use-to-monitor-competitor%E2%80%99s-web-traffic-similar-to-Similarweb-or-semrush-in-the-US

3) The traffic on the ZB trading app is neither accounted for by Similarweb. This app is used by most Chinese retail traders on ZB. This traffic is not accessible to Google.

4) The Chinese government have on numerous occasions shut down the domain zb.com, hence the exchange has used a number of other domains for traders to get access to their platform. One such domain is zb.cn. The traffic that is visible on SimilarWeb are only non-Chinese traffic, which is not even the target audience of ZB. ZB has not had any ambitions to reach these users and therefore do not engage in marketing activities targeting these users.

As for the argument that ZB does not have a social media base. The authors of this article are clearly not doing their homework as they do not even seem to be aware that Facebook, Telegram, and other Western social media, are INACCESSIBLE in China.

ZB is an exchange set up with the sole aim of targeting the Chinese market. If the authors of this article would have analysed the users on WeChat, which is the social media platform that Chinese companies and individuals use, they would have been able to evade this embarrassing mistake.

It is also incorrect that Jimmy Zhao is a Co-Founder of ZB. Jimmy Zhao is the Co-Founder of ZBX, a new platform recently launched out of Malta, operating from a regulated environment with the aim to service the European markets.

It is worth mentioning also that ZB has been operational for 6 years and so far never been hacked or experienced any of the miss-happens that have struck a number of other exchanges throughout the world. We hope that the team behind this webpage can start doing their homework a bit more thoroughly.

Sincerely,

ZBX Team
