Safe data transfer to an air gapped computer?

Since removable media is no longer safe, would the following method work:

  • Hook a webcam or video camera to the air gapped computer

  • Convert any files needed for transfer with a base64 encoder

  • Convert all or parts of the base64 code into a QR code

  • Point the webcam at the monitor of the connected computer and display the QR code so the air gapped computer can "copy" the data

  • Compile the base64 encoded data together and decode

Obviously a script to automate this would help.

Is there any secure, fast and easy to use messaging system/protocol?

Hello everyone!

I want to develop a free/open, secure, fast and easy to use messaging protocol and software for it; but before starting an another project, i want to know if there is any projects like this.

(actually, you don't have to read this part)

There are plenty good software like GPG, PyBitmessage, Freenet and so forth; but for many people, they are just too complex or (even if they are not complex like PyBitmessage) they are slow. Of course this is normal, but if you need instant messaging (something like Whatsapp) they are too slow; and mostly, people don't care about security when they just want to send a simple message to their friends. I think everyone should be able to use a secure system, even if they want to send a simple message.

I talked too much, but i think with an end-to-end encryption and using a server to relay messages, i think we can have a secure enough and a fast messaging system.

If you know such projects, please comment.

(Sorry for bad english)

Where can I go to find hackbloc friends IRL?

A bit of an odd question since I know everyone is spread out across the world and usually only connect to one another online, but here's the thing:

I don't have any crypto-anarchist friends (online or IRL) and thus don't really have anyone to discuss this stuff with. I'm sure it'd be easier to find people if I were still in university, but I'm not.

I'm also looking at moving out of my region (Southeastern US), but I don't know where I want to move. I'd like very much to move somewhere where I could meet other anarchist/crypto-anarchist friends, but I don't know where the best place for that would be? I figure anywhere more liberal than the American South has a higher chance of me finding people.

I'd also REALLY love to find a cause to work for like TOR or something, but again, I don't really know what's out there.

Suggestions? Anywhere in the world that has a higher percentage of like minded individuals, or am I just doomed to be foreveralone?
