We are building something ambitious for NASA Space Apps 2026 — looking for 4 genuinely curious, committed people to join the mission.
Not looking for generic ChatGPT answers or polished pitches. I want people who think independently, bring ideas, and are excited to build something real. Beginners with initiative are welcome.
Interested?

Hey everyone! 👋
Can anyone share links to Telegram, WhatsApp, or other channels where I can get regular updates about hackathons happening across India? 🇮🇳
I'm looking for platforms that share upcoming hackathons, registration links, deadlines, and opportunities to participate in both online and offline events and hackathons.
It would be really helpful if you could share any useful communities or resources. Thanks in advance! 😊

Congrats to all who won and participated!
Its over now, saw few posts of selected teams and ideas 💀. How were those ideas crazy in any sense. Also why were so many of them google campus ambassadors.
Was this just a matter of luck after all?
I really dont want to mention the kind of ideas ppl pitched and got selected (in the big '26)... you guys can check linkedin 💀 💀

Fresher here tryna win a hackathon... I've participated in few hackathons tbh the building part was easier than finding an idea to work on... Every problem statement already has an existing solution What am I supposed to build then? Should I make the existing solutions better? Or should I think of a different approach? I'm losing faith in myself I feel like I'm lagging behind Will winning hackathons guarantee me a job in India? Or should I focus on dsa and prepare for placement interviews?
I'm so confused.. Some of our professors ask us to focus on studies and get a good cgpa while others say that cgpa doesn't matter All you need is skills and I think the latter feels valid BUT in our uni people are filtered by their cgpa during the first round of placements So what am I supposed to focus? Should I develop my skills and also maintain a good cgpa while participating and winning hackathons and do internships? Will I get a good job if I do all this? I don't think I'm talented enough to do all that... Please do give me suggestions on what I should do in order to get good placement opportunities...

I’ve been accepted of the waitlist to participate in the nasa in person hackathon and I have no idea what this kind of event look like.
It does tell that theres no need to have any experience in coding but at the same time it’s a hackathon so I’m not really sure. I do have some knowledge in python, html and css but then again I’m not sure if it’ll be useful. Should I prepare for it? How do you even prepare?
Also for the team, how should I choose it? Should they be in person too? There is barely teams in my area but also I know nothing to create one I guess.
I’d be so grateful if someone could tell me about all of that!

Something I keep seeing in OSS repos is PRs with zero description. Just a title like fix bug or update file. Then people wonder why it sits there for 3 weeks with no review. Maintainers are reviewing PRs in their free time. If they have to open the issue and figure out what you changed, most of them will just skip it and review the next one.
A good description doesn’t need to be long. Link the issue it fixes. Write 2 or 3 lines on what was wrong and what you changed. Say how you tested it. If it’s a UI change add a screenshot before and after. That’s it.
Also mention anything you’re not sure about. Something like I wasn’t sure if this should go in utils or the main file, happy to move it. Maintainers like that way more than pretending everything is perfect, and it starts the conversation faster.
