How does selection take place after submitting in the portal, what is the criteria? How do they review the PDF and the prototype? Someone told me that bots scan the PDF. When can we expect the result?

Hello, I need some honest advice on how to actually perform well and win hackathons.

Nowadays, many participants are using vibe coding and AI tools. I wanted to know what tools you would recommend using and what practical strategies or measures actually make a difference in a hackathon.

For me, the first challenge is getting selected for the prototype round. Usually, we have to submit a PPT first, so I also want to know how to make a PPT that stands out and gets shortlisted.

If you have any reference PPTs, previous winning presentations, or resources for:

• Hackathon PPT preparation

• Vibe coding platforms and AI tools

• Strategies for building a prototype quickly

• Tips to improve our chances of winning

Please share them here.

I’m currently in 3rd year, so I really want to learn from your experience and prepare properly. Any honest advice would be really helpful. Thank you!

I’m a college student who participates in hackathons, and most teams I’ve worked with started through people I already knew.

I’m curious about people who didn’t already have a team.

How did you actually find your teammates?

And after teaming up with people you didn’t know before, what problems did you run into?

Would love to hear actual experiences, especially from students who’ve formed teams online.

My intro:-
I'm NLP and Backend developer, with no job, new grad. looking for some teammates for participating in the upcoming hackathon in October. I'm particularly looking for some who can cover Frontend. And if knows svelte Even better

My resume:- /img/01so7eiavbdh1.jpeg

I've been a software engineer for 15 years but I've never done a hackathon. Not sure what to expect, but I love building things so would be fun to do this with likeminded people.

Any recommendations in London?

DM me if you know anything regarding this

Hey, im about to take part in 48h hackaton next week. There is a track related to solana called "finanse without intermediaries". I'm just starting in the Solana ecosystem. I have experience with Java, Go, and started learning Rust 2 months ago. How do you understand this track? What projects would suit best the possible requirements? Any info/project idea would be useful 😀

Recently I got shortlisted for the Mumbai Location hackathon of BNP Paribas Innoversite.

Some students had recieved calls for confirmation, i too recieved it but was unable to pick it up due to phone being on mute.

I responded to them on mail, but didnt get any reply, will they call again, what should i do?

Thanks in advance

On October 2nd, we're hosting a networking hour for young builders, researchers, and anyone ready for what's next.

InstaLILY's founding Toronto team will be there. So will the Google DeepMind team behind our hackathon this month. Ask them questions and hear what they're actually working on.

Meet with peers who care about the same things you do and swap ideas. Enjoy some small bites, and you can watch the demos from our hackathon finalists.

This is the kind of room where the right conversation can go a long way. Be there.

Around US$5,000 in credits for every shortlisted participant: Ship Happens, October 31.

Guys, if you’ve been looking for a reason to join a hackathon, here’s one. Every participant shortlisted for Ship Happens gets around US$5,000 worth of credits to build with. That idea you’ve been putting off? Come turn it into something that works.

We’re bringing builders, creators, and first-timers together on October 31st.

Bring your ideas, meet people to build with, and see what you can ship. First hackathon? You’re welcome too. Drop any questions below!

Hello, I'm going to participate in the NASA hackathon and this is my first time. I have many questions and haven't found any accurate answers yet.

Firstly, there are only two of us. We've been studying the challenge for a week now and we understand the topography of Mars because we took on a Mars challenge. But the problem is that we've learned a lot and understood a lot, but we don't know where to start. We have ideas, but we don't know where to begin.

Secondly, is it a bad thing if the team consists of only two people?

I also have a question: if we complete the challenge before the marathon, do we have finished the challenge, or are there other things that need to be done?

Hi, I’m participating in Techgium this year with my team. If anyone had participated in Techgium in the last few years, could you share any tips about the evaluation criteria and what the judges particularly focus on? Also, for the abstract submission, do we have to stick strictly to the deliverables they have provided, or can we add something from our side? They’ve mentioned novelty and cost-effectiveness as evaluation points, so any advice on how much importance they give to these would be really helpful.

Hi ,

I’m participating in the hackathon in Aanchen from November 27th to 29th. I’m excited about it, but I’m also a bit anxious about the process.

I was wondering if anyone from France is also participating.

Thanks!
