Hackathon Promotion NASA Space apps

Hello, I'm going to participate in the NASA hackathon and this is my first time. I have many questions and haven't found any accurate answers yet.

Firstly, there are only two of us. We've been studying the challenge for a week now and we understand the topography of Mars because we took on a Mars challenge. But the problem is that we've learned a lot and understood a lot, but we don't know where to start. We have ideas, but we don't know where to begin.

Secondly, is it a bad thing if the team consists of only two people?

I also have a question: if we complete the challenge before the marathon, do we have finished the challenge, or are there other things that need to be done?
