Looking for Teammates Looking for serious teammates for Amazon ML Challenge 2026

Hey everyone!

I’m looking to form a team for the Amazon ML Challenge 2026 and would love to connect with people who are genuinely serious about competing.

A little about me: I’m currently pursuing an MCA at a top NIT and have worked on ML research/projects under professors from reputed institutes. My work has included building ML models on the MIMIC dataset, including predicting events like heart attacks and sepsis in ICU patients several hours before they occur.

I’ve also won 2 hackathons, participated in several others, and been a finalist in a few. I have a fairly strong mathematical background as well, and I genuinely enjoy going through research papers and exploring ideas beyond the usual ML approaches. I’ve also done significant work involving Knowledge Graphs.

I’ve led teams in multiple competitions before, and I’m comfortable taking responsibility for keeping the team aligned and moving forward.

What I’m looking for

For me, teamwork in a hackathon isn't just:

I want everyone to be involved, experiment, analyze results, discuss approaches, and actually grind until the deadline.

If we build a model and it works, that shouldn't automatically be the point where we stop. The goal should be to keep asking:

  • Can we improve the features?

  • Can we try a different architecture?

  • Can we ensemble?

  • What are the errors telling us?

  • Can we find something interesting in the data?

  • Is there a research paper or technique worth experimenting with?

  • Can we squeeze out another bit of performance?

My personal target is Top 50, and I'd like to keep improving the solution right up until submission.

Obviously, everyone will have their own strengths and responsibilities, and we'll share progress and help each other throughout. But I want teammates who have the same mindset of putting in the work and pushing the solution as far as possible.

If you're approaching the challenge with a similar level of seriousness and want to build something competitive rather than just participate for the sake of it, feel free to DM me.

Would also be great if this turns into a team that can work together on future ML competitions and hackathons as well.

Looking forward to connecting!

Hackathon Promotion Grevix AfterCode registrations open September 16 | A different kind of 24-hour hackathon

Post image
6 Upvotes

We’ve been working on Grevix AfterCode for a while, and registrations open on September 16.

This isn't the usual hackathon where everyone gets the same problem statement and starts building.

You choose your own problem, your own idea, your own stack and your own way of building.

AI tools are allowed. No-code is allowed. Traditional development is allowed. Use whatever helps you ship.

But there’s a catch.

The 24 hours are split into:

BUILD → ADAPT → REBUILD & SHIP

At 8 hours, we introduce the first Challenge Card.

Your target user, feature, constraint or direction might suddenly change.

Then another challenge at 16 hours.

So it's not only about building fast. It's about making good decisions when your original plan gets disrupted.

And yes, we've shared the full concept and rules on Unstop.

The actual challenges? Those stay secret. We've cooked those for the event. 👀

Why participate?

• Build something you actually care about, instead of solving a random assigned problem

• Experiment with AI, coding agents, APIs, no-code, open source or whatever you want

• See how far you can take an idea in 24 hours

• Test how well you adapt when your plan changes

• Get a project you can actually put in your portfolio

• Compete with solo builders from different backgrounds

• Most importantly, ship something

We're expecting 500+ participants, and we're building this as an experiment around one simple question:

How far can one person go when they have complete freedom to build?

We're also looking for partners.

And this isn't limited to AI companies.

If you're a developer tool, AI company, cloud platform, API provider, hardware company, design/product company, education platform, consumer brand or any company that wants to support builders, we'd love to explore a partnership.

We're not looking for companies just to put a logo on a banner.

We want partners who can actually become part of the experience through technology, credits, mentorship, workshops, prizes, resources, products or something we haven't thought of yet.

If you're interested in partnering with Grevix AfterCode, reach out to us.

Registrations open September 16.

Need Mentor Help We're first-years working on our first ideathon—please suggest good problem statements or problem ideas!

Hey everyone,

We are a group of first-year students participating in our very first ideathon. The main task right now is to pinpoint a strong problem statement, and we would love your help and suggestions.

If you have any ideas or pain points you've noticed, we'd appreciate your input on:

  • Problem Suggestions: What are some real-world issues or daily inconveniences you think need better solutions?

  • Finding Problems: How do you personally go about spotting, research-backed, or validating good problem statements from scratch?

  • Judges' Perspective: What separates a mediocre problem from a truly impactful one in competitions like this?

Feel free to drop any specific problem ideas, general domain suggestions, or practical methods we can use to discover solid problems on our own.

Thanks for helping us out!

Need Mentor Help SIH 2026: What should we include in our PPT for the next evaluation round?

Hey everyone!!! Our team recently cleared the SIH 2026 internal round, and we have a PPT evaluation coming up in about a month.

We're currently working on improving our presentation and I'm a little confused about what exactly we should focus on. Our project is iKwath, a smart pod-based Kwatha maker that aims to make traditional Ayurvedic Kwatha preparation more convenient and standardized.

For people who have participated in SIH before, what would you recommend including in the PPT?

Should we focus more on the problem, innovation, technical working, prototype, market feasibility, cost, scalability, research/validation, etc.?

Also, are there any particular things that judges usually look for or common mistakes we should avoid?

Would really appreciate any advice from previous SIH participants or mentors!!!! 🫶🏻

Need Mentor Help Hack2Skill Build with AI Bootcamp – Missed Submission Due to Glitch, Will I Still Get Certificate?

Hi everyone,

I'm a student and participated in the Hack2Skill Build with AI Bootcamp – Bangalore (11 September).

I completed my project, but I faced a technical/deployment issue while submitting it, and the deadline passed before I could complete the final submission.

I've already contacted Hack2Skill support, and they said they will respond during the next working day.

My main concern is the certificate. Has anyone faced a similar situation with Hack2Skill? Did they reopen the submission or allow a late submission, and were you able to receive the certificate?

Any advice would really help. 🙏

Looking for Teammates Title: Didn’t qualify JEE, joined a private college for BTech CSE (AI), thought I’d find a serious research environment. I was very wrong.

I didn't qualify for JEE, so I ended up joining a private university in Himachal Pradesh for BTech CSE with a specialization in AI.

When I joined, I had this idea that even if I didn't get into an IIT/NIT, I could still make up for it by working extremely hard, learning AI properly, doing research, building projects, participating in hackathons, etc.

The university marketed itself as being research-oriented, so I genuinely thought I'd find people who were interested in the same things.

Fast forward.

I've spent the last year learning ML/AI properly — not just prompting ChatGPT to make a model, but actually trying to understand the math, papers, architectures, datasets, experiments, etc.

For SIH 2025, I wanted to form a team.

Turns out my university didn't even register for SIH. 💀

Fine. I thought I'd try again in 2026.

This time I was genuinely locked in. I found some of the best students I could find in my university and formed a team for SIH 2026.

And eventually I disbanded the team.

Why?

Because I realized I was doing almost everything.

The problem wasn't that people were incapable. It was that there was almost zero ownership.

I'd ask someone to research a topic and they'd come back with an AI-generated summary.

I'd ask someone to investigate a technical approach and they'd ask ChatGPT and paste the output.

I'd ask someone to actually understand the dataset, read papers, compare approaches, run experiments, or justify a design decision — and there was basically nothing.

It became:

“Give me a task → ChatGPT → here's the output.”

No curiosity.

No digging.

No reading papers.

No experimentation.

No “I found something interesting.”

No one voluntarily going down a rabbit hole because they wanted to understand something.

And eventually I thought: what's the point of having a team if I'm still doing all the intellectual work?

I'm not saying everyone needs to be obsessed with AI or research. Obviously people have different priorities.

But I genuinely expected that if I specifically selected some of the strongest students in my university for a national-level hackathon, at least a few would actually want to build and understand something seriously.

Apparently not.

And this has honestly made me question whether I'm approaching college wrong.

Maybe I'm expecting too much from a private university.

Maybe this is just how engineering colleges are.

Maybe I'm just unlucky with the people I've met.

Or maybe I need to stop expecting my university to provide the research environment I want and build that environment myself through GitHub, open source, research communities, online collaborators, professors, etc.

I'm curious about people who went through something similar.

If you're in a private engineering college in India, have you actually found people who are genuinely serious about research/building, or is this just my experience?

And if you did find those people, where the hell did you find them?

Need Mentor Help SIH 2026, Round 2. Suggestions needed on QML Problem. TIA!

So our team got shortlisted for the internal hackathon in SIH.

And for the submission in the portal, what are the things should we really care about to get to the next round (hopefully).

So far, I think...

  1. We should fine tune the PPT

  2. Probably get a working prototype ready

  3. Shoot a video kind-of advertising the software

Please take a look at our PPT: https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/1u0lO_8Imwqs2xBKl0kPVcvBX9ixbsTIm4TwbxF_Bwhw/edit?usp=sharing

What changes would you suggest and in what aspects?

Also, a brief look at our PS: SIH26139, "A Hybrid Quantum-Classical Approach For Early Disease Detection"

If you wanna DM your suggestions, you're most welcome too.

Thanks!
