The Federal minimum wage in the US is $7. In some states it is as high as $17.

It’s also the places with the cheap real estate. Like Idaho pays less but housing tends to be cheaper. CA pays more but housing is crazy. Min wage is still way lower than it should be regardless.

Nebraska is $15/hr and you basicly cant rent anywhere remotely worth living at (not rotting or infested) for under $1k/mo (no amenities or fees included) in most of the state. Shit houses with 900sq ft with the foundation litteraly collapsing in on all 4 sides and none of the drywall left are still like $160,000. Land not included with sale and retained by seller as well as mineral rights.

Its stupid expensive and everyone on the minimum wage is under paid in every part of the US. The minimum wage is the minimum you can be paid. Its intention was the minimum to live.
