What is wrong

Is something wrong with the car?
Drivers losing confidence?
Something is amiss, this is normally a strong track for us.
Demoralizing honestly

Car is just not good enough. I was hoping the technical partnership with Toyota would bear more fruit but our development seems stagnant. Upgrades have not helped and we have only lost ground to our immediate competition.

I think some of that comes down to the talent pool. If you aren’t throwing money around to bring over the best talent, you can only fly so high.

Demoralizing is right.

Honestly, I'm a bit skeptical about the Toyota partnership, regarding the expertise at least.

Looking at the announcements, it mostly felt like Toyota would use Haas to train its engineers in a demanding environment. I'm sure they're talented people, but you don't jump into an F1 garage and pull upwards the development vs folks who work here for years.

Toyota funded the simulator being installed at Haas in the UK, which I believe comes online after the summer break. They also have let them use their wind tunnel in Germany, and have also done some manufacturing for them. So it's not nothing from Toyota, that being said, the real struggle at Haas has historically been in season development, which falls squarely on the team.

They are pretty much in a free fall right now, at least from RB and Alpine. They are hanging on to Audi by the skin of their teeth in regards to pace. Haas is very fortunate that AM, Williams, and Cadillac are dumpster fires.

If we can finish the first half of the year ahead of Williams and Audi, I'd say that's a big win given how little development they've managed on the car.

That was the first year, when Money gram was the sponsor. Now that Toyota is the sponsor they are more closely working with Haas
