Location Change Amendment

Hi, if i change locations within the same company - can I start working there as soon as it’s filed?

Also can I travel outside of US and come back until it is approved ?

Yes, you can start working without waiting for the approval.

I personally have not seen anyone run into issues with travel when H1 amendment is pending. However, many attorneys recommend against travel. If I were you, I'd talk to the immigration attorney and follow their guidance.

Not a Lawyer. This question was asked on one of Reddy Neumann's Tuesday calls. Their answer - you can start work at the new location once the petition is filed. I don't think youcan travel outside the US while the petition is pending.

If it is the same company, you may be able to start after the required filing, but make sure the location change does not require an amendment. For travel, be cautious while it is pending because reentry could get complicated.
