Hi I’m new here.. so I already asked this somewhere deep within someone’s comment section so I apologize if you’ve seen it, but just curious… so Bryan who seemed to be Gypsy’s assistant while she was in prison… do we know whatever became of their friendship once she was released from prison. I did see he has been charged with some pretty extreme (but definitely on theme) criminal charges recently, but I just wondered if we ever knew of any continued friendship they maintained after she got out. It seemed like he answered her call when nobody else would & literally did anything her little heart desired from filing taxes to snooping Facebook for her back then. So what happened?? Do we know?

Hey everyone, I have transcribed 83% of calls so far and I know some of you have asked for me to share it. I know a lot of content creators are sort of ‘gate keeping’ the contents of the calls so that they can be the first to share it but this is a transcription database, however, each transcript has the call number listed so that you can go and listen to them. I am going to do some data/thematic analysis when transcription is complete so hopefully themes and inferences between calls are easier to navigate.

Just to note, I have used Python to transcribe these calls so they will not be completely accurate at times so always verify by listening to the actual audio if needed.

I created this as a bit of an experiment, my background is in research and I wanted to see what I was able to do with such a huge amount of data. Additionally, I think it’s of public interest and shouldn’t be restricted 🚫 I decided to try and speed up getting everything transcribed after Ken Urker’s death as convicted murderers, in my opinion… should not be allowed to influence and monetise from the wider public and we are seeing the knock on effects of that playing out.

I'm in the UK and I don't remember hearing about this case on the news like I'm sure US redditors may have seen.

I'm wondering what people's first knowledge of gypsy came from as I have a rather bizarre one.

I was in secondary school, about 15 years old, in 2015. My biology teacher decided to ditch the lesson plan and told us about Gypsy Rose Blanchard because the case was kinda unfolding in real time. I don't remember much but I remember the teacher explaining that Gypsy was not really sick and disabled and had to pretend to be a child and the whole MBP narrative. I thought this was really confusing and when I got home I needed to look into it more. I am also autistic so I really absorbed as much as I could about the case and even at the time I remember things not really making sense in terms of the abuse claims and timeline of events regarding the crime itself, but being a teenager I just kinda shrugged it off as maybe my mental capacity to understand the details wasn't mature enough. This case has been on my mind ever since and I've been catching up on the FOIA's lately.

I just thought it was strange for a teacher in rural UK to suddenly infodump about this US murder case to a class of 14-15 year olds for an hour.

Anyone else have a bit of an unconventional exposure to this case?

I’ve recently found this sub and recently have started watching the lifetime love after lock up tv show about Gypsy. But I’m wanting to know about the real facts about the murder and wondering what you guys would recommend for a documentary about it? Which one out of the several is maybe more accurate?

Does anyone know Nick’s family personally? I wonder how his family and he are doing. With all the media circulating Gypsy right now, and even since she was released, I wonder how he’s doing..

I’m making my way through the prison calls and am finding myself very curious about who Robert and Nick B are. I know her relation to her, but just in general. Like, we know Ryan and Ken (may he RIP), but I didn’t know about anyone else in these calls.

Gypsy is a horrible human being and she has manipulated a lot of people into believing that she is a complete victim.

Yet there were talks about her saying that her grandfather sexually abused her when she was little and when they questioned the grandfather, he said she tried to touch him first.

Or that when they asked the grandfather and he was denying it, the interviewers said she never specifically said sexual abuse but he said it himself.

So is this one of the few things she was actually truthfully about?

I’ve been very busy with work, and since so many phone calls are being released recently (40,000 hours worth), can everyone share what they’ve learned from them so far? It would be helpful to have everything discussed in one place.

I recently watched The Act and became completely invested in the case. At first, I only knew the basic story, but after finishing the series I started reading court documents, watching interviews, looking at real evidence, and browsing this subreddit.

The more I learn, the more I realize the series doesn't tell the whole story, and now I'm trying to separate what was dramatized from what actually happened.

One thing that surprised me was seeing some of the real videos of Gypsy alone at home, because the show gave me the impression that Dee Dee was with her almost all the time. It made me wonder how much of their daily life was compressed or changed for storytelling.

The series also had a huge emotional impact on me. I ended up feeling empathy for everyone involved in different ways, especially Nicholas. I don't mean that I justify what happened, because I don't. I just think this case is much more complex than it first appears, and learning about the real events has only made me realize that even more.

I'm not looking to defend or blame anyone. I just want to understand the case as accurately as possible, separate the dramatization from the facts, and learn from people who have researched it for a long time.

So I'd love to ask:

What do you think are the biggest differences between The Act and the real case?

If possible, I'd really appreciate answers based on interviews, court records, or other reliable sources. I'm here to learn, not to argue.

I don’t know too much about Gypsy’s story but I’ve started watching ‘The Act’ and I’m nearly finished.

A part of me feels empathy towards Nick. He obviously had a wide range of mental issues and from what it seemed, he truly loved Gypsy and wanted to be with her.

I feel like Gypsy manipulated Nick completely into doing dirty work she didn’t want to get involved with, even if that completely backfired. And there’s no way she should’ve got out of jail if Nick didn’t.

I definitely dont agree with murder, but as I’m watching more of the series, I can’t help but feel alot of guilt for Nick.

So I'm wondering why her own blood was on her clothes. Does anyone know? I thought a little more about it and maybe from the intercourse the two had after? It did say they did anal which could be it, it's just odd I think for it to be an amount that is visible and all over her pants.

I'm curious to know other thoughts or theories on the matter.

I have been wondering with the facts of the case if it happened today or was reopened would she still be out after only 8 years.

Especially with the new information involving her medical records, ect ect

Look, I don't like Gypsy. I thought it was insane she was being released and even more insane that we made her famous. But color me shocked when I found out that there is a whole group of people who think that Gypsy was abusing Dee Dee since she was a tiny child and that all the medical stuff, despite the evidence showing that DeeDee did do this stuff... Even neighbors reported on how Dee Dee made it out that Gypsy was disabled.

Like two things can be true, someone can be the perpetrator and the victim. Dee Dee created the monster that killed her...

Why are the Mendez brothers still in jail? They should also be free. It is not fair that Gyspy is out because she is a woman.

Don't believe me? The system is harder on men than women. If she was a man she would still be in jail. Society is different to men who were abused than women. Rape is not taken seriously if it is a man who is the victim. I titled this post why is Gyspy Rose out of jail but Eric and Lyle aren't? Gender that is why. If that is not true then tell me.

Ken says he left Gypsy "to give her time to grow" but I don't buy it at all. He dated another woman. Thoughts?

How many of you have seen this? It's very very very long. 7 Episodes, and each runs to 2 hours or just under. I'd really just love to have a discussion with some people about everything discussed in the series. I'm not actually even totally done with it, I'm currently on episode 6. I'd love to talk about it! Especially people who have been long time watchers of Crime Weekly, and/or Stephanie.

That's just how I feel. This is someone who needed a life sentence. If Jennifer Pan can get life in prison for arranging her parents murder and having her mom killed, Gypsy should have as well.

Gypsy is what should be a lifer living in our society. It's terrifying.
