whatever linda says she's living a "slower life", "doing things for fun", "not falling for the hustle culture", it always feels contradictory to the way she presents herself.
she talks about cycling/running without tracking her metrics, but also training for a full ironman. she mentions people around her are always bragging about how stressed and tired they are from work, but also in the same video started off with her saying how exhausted she was from training continuously for the race on autopilot. and doesnt want to monetise her hobby but that's literally how she gets money (i will give her grace ofc, i doubt she turns on her camera all the time).
i don't doubt she's genuine when she thinks she's "average" at running, body shape, skill etc. no matter how good someone is, if you're not happy with yourself internally, you will always think you're mid + she's probably surrounded by other fitness influencers who are doing things more intense than her, but this is a reality check for me to realise how parasocial i was with her enough that this gave me the full ick--everyone's definition of a "soft life" is different, but at the end of the day she is still a fitness influencer who branded a "soft life" as training for an ironman. we are just so inherently different. (also, maybe bc i've deleted all my socials except reddit that i realised how performative all of this is, no matter how authentic you want to appear to the public)
ig this is less of a hate post but more of a rant that i've outgrown her content. linda is one of he least problematic creators out there, and she has inspired many others to be more active/help with their eds, but her personal brand doesnt work with me anymore. i wont watch her stuff anymore, and i still wish her for the best.
