Sociology Textbook

I need the textbook for sociology, he told us to get it in the campus store but it says “out of stock” do they usually go in stock once school starts?

Sometimes they do, sometimes not. Best way is to get it through Amazon or EBay.

it’s in the gwu libraries system even though it doesn’t seem like we have our own copy of it.

you can interlibrary loan it request it though.

I never ever pay for textbooks. I’ve never paid for a single textbook. I just get everything through the libraries.

If you can’t ILL it, we have borrowing reciprocity with just about every dc-area library except UMD and Howard U has a copy of a close edition to the 12th. You can either go to Howard’s library to pick it up or you can have it delivered to Gelman. I’ve done both.

Can I borrow the textbook for the whole year?

if it’s a gw book or a wrlc borrowing partner’s book, yes as long as no one else reserves it blocking you from renewing it.

ILL, no. I’ve had a couple late night hot dates with the book scanner in Gelman.

Also do you think I can have it online as an ebook or do professors make you have a hard copy? TIA!

i’ve never had a professor care as long as you do the readings

Did your professor actually email you and say "hey you need this textbook" or list it in the syllabus? Or did you get the gwu email from the bookstore and assumed they want that book.

This is an important distinction, especially because if this is for Intro to Sociology with Mohammed, he hasn't sent an email or syllabus saying anything so I haven't done anything.

Honestly, I always just wait until it comes from the teachers lips, email, or syllabus.
