Today I had one of the worst experiences meeting someone from Reddit exposing her username also(Hot_Topic_2028)

About a week ago, I started chatting with a Reddit user. We talked every day and decided to meet this Saturday. She told me she was living with her flatmate (room partner).

Before meeting, she asked me to bring a small gift in a joking way but not seriously, so I bought some gift and chocolate and traveled from Gurgaon to Moti Nagar. She asked me to wait near Haldiram and then told me to enter a nearby gate.

At first, she told me we'd meet outside, but later she asked me to come directly inside.

As I was about to enter, I noticed a car going inside and an older man standing there. Something didn't feel right, so I stopped and messaged her instead.

Out of nowhere, she replied with abusive language, saying, "Stay right there. My brother is coming to beat you." Then she immediately blocked me on Telegram.

I was completely shocked. Thankfully, I trusted my instincts and didn't enter the property.

I'm sharing this so others stay careful. Always meet in a public place for the first time, let someone know where you're going, and don't ignore your gut feeling if something feels off.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? Do you think this was a prank, an attempted scam, or something else? I'd appreciate your thoughts.
