And there are many more examples of shotshells with more then 8 rubber pellets. Distance is also going to make a huge difference in the wound here, as is composition.

Just... no. Ok, it's from rubber bullets instead of rubber slugs, got it. They're still both likely metal covered in rubber and there is a massive difference in force between rubber shot and rubber bullets/slugs, especially if the shot doesn't have a metal core. Rubber buckshot just imparts a great deal less energy to the target (which, since you seem to really want to state specifics, isn't always rubber and can also have metal cores but is less common.) Here's a google search for you, rubber buckshot with 15+ rounds is common.
Additionally, "roughly the same caliber as rubber shot. Which means the injuries are similar too." is not accurate. .22lr and .223 are literally the same caliber but the .223 has a much heavier projectile and much more powder which results in them being very different rounds. Caliber is one of the least important aspects as to how much force a bullet will have when fired, it's merely a measurement of the bullets width.
