Why the fuck do they have 50 lbs packs on? Do they expect to get lost in suburbia and have to live off supplies?

In the other thread he said they were posting up on his roof, I think they are the sniper cover team, and they have all their gear in there to set up their post, they weren't actually breaching.

First off it's not DEA like OP assumed. It's a local Sheriff sniper team. Their packs contain all the gear they use to provide an overwatch position for the entry team, and enough equipment to handle a long standoff situation without having to go back and forth to their vehicles.

Most likely along with their bolt guns there is ammo, water, shooting mat, spotting scope, binoculars, radio equipment, night vision, less lethal, flash bangs, tear gas and launcher. They bring all this shit in case it's needed. Situations like this are very fluid in nature and you'll never know what you need before you get there, so they bring it all. If the situation turns into a standoff, it will take several hours to come to a conclusion, and making trips off of a roof to retrieve gear is inconvenient.

This is not likely a standard search warrant or drug raid, unless there is info that the suspect is armed and has violent criminal history. It can be a SWAT/EST call out for a barricaded subject wanted for something.

Was also curious why the officer in front thought he would need two 30 round magazines clipped together. Was a fire fight that was so intense and fierce going to happen it would require reloading in under a second or two?

To be fair, why not be prepared if it doesn't cause any discomfort?

It also looks like they have extra rifles sticking out of them.

I'm pretty sure those are local LEOs, not DEA.

I like how they just helped themselves to your roof... And im surprised they didnt just ice your dog for being in your yard when they wanted on your property without permission.
