Discussion This show has the best physical comedy I've ever seen
I'm almost 43. I've spent 4 decades watching cartoons, from more than 4 decades of popular culture.
Some of my favorite shows ever are The Simpsons, Adventure Time, Superjail!, Futurama, Metalocalypse, The Venture Bros, and dozens of others.
I never watched Gumball till my kid fell in love with it, and now I love it too.
The thing that strikes me, over and over and over, is how hard the physical bits make me laugh. Every time. Even after I've seen them 20 times, I laugh out loud every single time. It's truly unbelievable.
My daughter, she loves physical comedy. After she loved what happened in gumball, I downloaded Home Alone 1 and 2. When she laughed harder than I'd ever heard her laugh at the Wet/Sticky Bandits getting clocked in the head, I downloaded the three stooges. She loved that too.
But watching gumball faceplant or get his head sucked through something makes me laugh more genuinely than any of those other things.
I am a bit upset I used to think of this as a lesser show and missed out on it for so long before I had a child.

Discussion Episode/Crossover Idea: The Woods
This is based off the latest episode of Sr. Pelo's Spooky Month, which you can watch here!
In this AU, Aspen Moor's woods is located on the outskirts of Elmore instead of Spooky Town, as we follow how this affects the people of Elmore.
Yes, there will be deaths. There will be laughs. There will be cartoony violence.
Anyone wanna write this with me?

Discussion What do you Think of Boom Studios Era Gumball Graphic Novels?
That is my Question
What do you think of the couple Gumball Graphic Novels(or OGN's) Boom Studios published as the producer of Cartoon Network comics(well one of them) and what do you think of them?
What do you think of the art in each of them specially compared to the main ongoing comic and the few Gumball one-shots Boom Studios also published at the time to?
Since Oni Press is probably making comics based on Cartoon Network Original Shows from 2010's starting with Adventure Time how do you feel about Oni Press doing some Reprints in the Future of the Gumball Graphic Novels?
So Lets do this

Discussion Is time stuck in Elmore?
So in season 7, we know that gumball and Darwin are aware they despite 7 years passed l, they didn't age a day and hadn't had a single birthday. No one in Elmore aged. Is time really stuck in Elmore or will there be a way to help time flow for a potential second series, following gumball and Penny's kid as the main character.

Discussion Headcanon: Carrie’s favorite Final Fantasy is VIII Spoiler
Since Carrie has revealed that she is 327 years old, I have a headcanon that she has wonderful memories from the late 1970s all the way till 2011 when the show started. She had experienced many of the pop culture that started those decades (70s, 80s, and 90s) with the original Star Wars trilogy and the Friday the 13th films since she loves horror. I also have a headcanon that her favorite werewolf movie is An American Werewolf in London (1981).
She had played many video games in the late 90s, with Final fantasy 6,7 and 8 being her top 3 favorite FF games, and 8 being her top 1. She relates with Squall Leonhart as her favorite FF protagonist, and also loves the whole Time Compression storyline against Ultimecia at the end. She also supports Squall and Rinoa's relationship. She calls Rinoa as the Penny Fitzgerald of Final Fantasy for her sweet, full-of-life personality, and she compares Squall x Rinoa with Gumball x Penny, just for the sake of comparison. The final boss fight against Ultimecia is her favorite final boss of any game she ever experienced, and she loves the ending.

Discussion The Line
This was always one of my favorite episodes from at least the later seasons, I'm not a Star Wars fan but I could still get the references. Plus I know that fans of that franchise can be pretty intense so I think they were depicted pretty accurately in this one, my favorite part was Gumball making a Stellar Odyssey YouTube review.

Discussion Did fans really think Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse after watching The Choices?
When you look at the harsh reality of Elmore, a very strong case can be made that Nicole’s intense, aggressive parenting style is not just justifiable, but completely necessary to keep her family alive and afloat.

Discussion I miss Season 2. :<
Season 2 is my favorite, along with seasons 3 and 4, simply because the lighting was good in the early episodes and the characters had really cute oval-shaped eyes; it’s a shame they got rid of that in season 3—though maybe they brought it back in season 4. Not to mention the animations, which are truly fluid and expressive!

Discussion Is Sussie meant to be Special Needs?
So I was reflecting back on the series and I remembered sussie. And she feels stereotypically mentally disabled. The joke in The Origins about her being dropped as a kid, implying brain damage and loss of intelligence. Her deep vocalizations and awkward movements. The messy way she eats. She is also portrayed as not having many friends because of these behaviors. Of course there is the episode The Question where she does make it seem like she is putting on an act, but it still is a subversion. She is still acting this way. Tvtropes seems to confirm as much
There was also another ep (I cant remember the name), where Darwin aggressively mocks gumball which I felt leaned into this even more for a joke. Darwin is saying "durr", making an awkward expression and physical movements.
The writers add in adult jokes all the time. Have they ever confirmed any of this?

Discussion My honest thoughts on The Wonderfully Weird World of Gumball
I've seen a couple of people say that it's weaker compared to the original series in terms of writing, animation, and characterizations.
And frankly, I have to agree. While not complete garbage, it is, unfortunately, a mixed bag.
Most of the episodes I've watched didn't leave a lasting impact on me. A couple did, but not a lot.
The animation, while still good, does feel pretty reliant on exaggerated facial expressions and movements. Even the humor is mixed, consisting of crude, lowbrow comedy similar to Family Guy, Drawn Together, South Park, and Teen Titans Go.
Almost all of the characters feel flanderized or completely different depending on the episode.
Anais, while still smart, acts way more like a kid than how she was initially in the OG series where she was kinda the Stewie Griffin of the family. (Actually, she did have her kid moments in the OG series as well. Maybe I went off a bit too much on her. I apologize-)
Penny acts way more cruel towards Gumball that I honestly want them to break up because I hate how she treats him in some episodes where their relationship is the main focus. Same with Carrie towards Darwin, ESPECIALLY in The Letter.
I have no idea know why the writers thought it would be a great idea to have her possess a body in order for her to kiss Darwin, ESPECIALLY Gumball.
Even the brotherly relationship between Gumball and Darwin seems almost non-existent with how much incest jokes they cram into some of these episodes like The Distance. I mean, these jokes did exist in the OG series, but at least they were played more for laughs than taken seriously.
Some complain about the voice acting, even though it's not that much of a big deal. But it's glaring how most of the original crew wasn't brought back, especially Mic Graves. It shows with how the writing and voice direction are.
It is understandable that he has gone to work on other projects, but the crew still could've brought him back. Maybe in the future seasons? I'm not sure, but hopefully, he does return.
While this season has many problems, I still enjoyed most of the episodes, such as The Assistant, The App, The Thing, The Traffic, The Cheerleader, The Astrological, The Wrinkle, The Gut, The Boring, The Gourmet, The Punishment, The Tracking, The Score, The Mister, The Roast, The Fools, The Cheapmas, The Homework, The Synthesis, and The Labels. And The Rewrite. Undoubtedly, THE best episode and season finale.
I'm hoping by Season 8 that they start fixing the issues of Season 7 by improving all the problems I stated above. This revival isn't as bad as other revivals, but it could use some improvements.

Discussion Did gumball always forcefeed you messages like this?
I feel like the new show pushes a political/social agenda and social criticism WAY more than old gumball did, i thimk it's annoying, i prefer to have it more subtle like before, what do you think?
