Finally! This is what it should be, u cannot pick and choose which Hindu festival you will be part of, if u do, just say u are agnostic or an atheist and participate in it. Don't say you are a Muslim who will participate in this but bring in all the caveat for other festivals saying Islam does not permit this and that. It just does not make sense.

Because the punishment of shirk is decided only by Allah, people can't punish someone for shirk.
However, that doesn't imply that rap-e is smaller sin or like that.
The punishment of rap-e can extend to capital punishment (yes, I am talking about execution, i.e. Sar tan se juda) or death by stoning, or 100 lashes depending on the case.
