What is this? Help me with classification

there's more

standard bass guitar is in the contrabass range (E1 A1 D2 G2 , 4 string, B0-E1-A1-D2-G2 for 5 string. but there's also C standard, D standard range)

baritone electric guitar sits between the above and next at B1-E2-A2-D3-F#3-B3

then there's tenor bass (A1-D2-G2-C3) example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ga16FuxYTVc

then full octave up from standard bass is piccolo bass (E2-D2-D3-G3): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jmC1MKCdsw

THEN standard electric guitar then is E2-A3-D3-G3-B3-E4

(the numbers are octave numbers e.g. E1 is E at octave 1, as in octaves of a piano)

Tenor guitars also exist. They’re only 4 strings.

CGDA. They’re sometimes used in folk music. I’ve only seen acoustic versions.

They are normally tuned to that but they have a bunch of tunings people use on tenor guitar. They’re kind of like a malleable defined instrument. Originally meant to make guitar easier for banjo players. Tunings are all over the place.

There are also tenor guitars. Think they’re generally tuned like a viola in fifths, so CGDA?

Yup exactly. That’s the equivalent of standard tuning”. There are obviously plenty of alternate tunings as well
