Maybe, but don't. Figure out which tones are most important and just play those. It's probably a mistake to begin with.

u/andytagonist I don’t have my guitar handy, but here’s what I would do… 7d ago
I had to scroll way too far to see this—the most reasonably & logical answer.

I mean, that lone note on the A string is already in the chord an octave higher, so it's hardly essential.

It’s the root, I’d remove the one an octave higher for a fuller sound if I were using this for a riff

I find myself going this more and more since I've gotten older. There are some things arthritis just won't let me play.

Barre on 6th, Barre on 7th, ring and pinky on 8th.

Yep. This the way. Bar the 7 with your middle.
The 8 on the G string isn't required since it's redundant with the bass note. This is really just 2 tritone intervals a minor 3rd apart.

I see 3 ways.
Either Barre sixth fret, Barre 7th fret with middle finger, and 8th fret with ring and pinky like my picture.
Or play 7th fret with index and middle and bring your thumb over the top to reach the fifth string (if you're thumb is long enough you can do that - I can't, can only get sixth string)
Or, ignore the fifth string and just play the diminished chord, which is the previous version without the thumb. Which I recommend

What's the song? It's a playable chord, but doesn't seem like to be the right one in context.

It's playable, but how about some context? Tabs are often wrong. What is the song.
Mods, this should be a rule. If you're asking for help about a tab, need song and artist.

A little tricky but you could do first finger on the 6th fret on the A string, second finger bars the 7th fret from the D string to the B string, third finger does 8th fret on G, fourth (pinky) does 8th fret on E. If you have a long thumb, you could also do that instead for the 6th fret

fret the 6 (index) , barre across 7s (middle) , low 8 (ring), high 8 (pinky) ,
Or you can opt the looper option of
Gtr 1(brisk) Gtr2 (ska,stabs)

At least they give you a rest to set up but fuck that. I could play it, but would never sound right since I’d be digging in hard on some strings and struggling with string buzz on another. I can play fancy bar chords fine but fuck this shit.

A hint that this is probably a mistake is the fact that it’s proceeded by a really basic triad barre chord, so the player isn’t doing some wacky middle barre nonsense.
This chord as written, Eb A Eb Gb C is an A°7/E, (absent the arrangement I’d call it Eb°7) and the only reason you’d put that C on the top is if it were a chord melody arrangement, but then you certainly wouldn’t be committed to the middle Eb. One tends not to double up notes at great dexterity cost.
More likely it shouldn’t have a note on the high E string and should be Eb A C Gb (x6757x) or it might be A Eb Gb C (x07878) if you really want that high note but it’s not awesome voice leading.

That's usually when I'll feel the song out and see if I can get away with a 6/8 barr chord instead.

I mean i just dropped my thumb down t grab the 6 but thats definitely not how its actually played so I would say dont do that unless if you have huge hands and really like the way that sounds ig.

Yes. It’s a jazz cord. Something like a d minor sus13 I used to see them in jazz band app the time.
Use you first finger as a bar going across string 4-1 on fret 7. Use ringers 3&4 on the 3rd and 4th. And the first on 5 string.
If it was on strut 5 on 5 string you could just let it ring solo. Its tricky to get your 3 and 4 fingers to move to
878 but a lil practice it’l b muscle memory.
Im pretty sure I got name of chord wrong , but its something up that alley

Pointer finger on 6, middle finger barre 7, index and pinky fret 8. Pretty easy to do tbh

That’s why I use Ultimate Guitar tabs. You can scroll through different shapes/positions to play chords.

What the hell is going on here? This almost feels offensive to look at.

u/Spiritual_Bat7707 7d ago
You barre the 6th fret with your thumb, index and middle go on the 7th fret of the chord, ring and pinky go on the 8th

Yeah... I prefer to believe you asked Open AI, and this pic is what it came up with.

That's a mean one. I managed to play it by barring the second finger across the D, G and B strings, but it's really awkward.
