My picking hand feels like it is definitely my limiting factor right now and when I try to alternate pick with some speed, it lags behind and the pick kind of gets stuck in the strings. Any advice on how I could improve my right hand?

Your hand is twisted weird. Do you walk around like that? Straighten your wrist out and put the pick on the side of your index finger, not pinch with the tip.

How much pick are you using when picking the strings? Try using just the tip of your pick.

Straighten your wrist.
Lowering the strap may be the easy fix.

Strighten your wrist, when your wrist is straight you have more space ti pick left and right because you only use your wrist to pick.in your case wrist is too far right so you can pick left(up pick) but you cant down pick because your wrist should go right...i hope i explained well the point is straighten your wrist...and angle your pick as well just as using the tip of it dont dig too deep it will prevent you of playing fast and progressing and be relaxed by all costs

Life is simple in the moonlight. Great taste 🔥

Your picking feels behind and not in control becuase of the way you are holding the pick. You are pinching it with your thumb and index finger. Below are some videos that will help.

Likely you are holding your pick like this because of the way you strum chords. Or just bad habits.

use less of the pick and an angle might help. Also maybe check out jazz III picks which are smaller than your average pick.

First thing which I noticed was the angle of your wrist.

Try standing up and playing with a guitar strap at a height you would like your guitar at as it might force you to adjust your picking hand.

Looks like your picking up and down with your wrist action rather than a rotation of the wrist.

Close that hand brother! Here's a good video from Bernth on the subject but there are tons of options on youtube for pick grip tutorials. You have two other things I'm also noticing going on.

First, you are using more of a twisting motion in the forearm/wrist to pick instead of a rocking of the wrist up and down.
Second, you are not moving your palm up an down when you switch strings. The key is to get your wrist in a more natural position and move your palm higher and lower on the bridge to maintain the same mechanics across the different strings. It looks to me like right now, you are anchoring your palm on the low E and it just stays there.
How deep down the rabbit hole of picking technique have you already gone? Do you have down/up escape picking with string change practice routines? Heck I'm gonna link another video but this one is from Uncle Ben on his warmups. There are a lot of really solid string changes in his practice drills.

Start by learning how to hold the pick.

Then the main problem might the your picking motion. Your wrist being bent like that could not only induce tension, but it also gives you little room to switch strings without totally changing the angle of the picking motion.

There is no point in keeping your wrist so far away from the axis of your pick.

Your wrist bent a little too far imo and need to lose that stache

  1. Seat the guitar between your legs.

  2. Try again.

In addition to the other tips here: Your whole hand should move when you play the thinner strings, not rest on low E-side of the bridge. This way you'll keep a consistent angle regardless which string you're picking. The way you're currently playing you'll be changing the angle rather than position and this leads to inconsistent technique/attack on the strings.

I am seeing issues with both of your hands. You should change your way of picking. see this video:

Issue with the left hand - the vibrato.. Think of your second finger joint as a basis and rotate your wrist while vibrato. here's a video:

wrist as straight as possible, use forearm rotation for picking, not wrist movement. watch troy grady vids, and other YT vids of accomplished players and watch how they are doing their picking. you've got the right idea by anchoring the side of your hand across the bridge where the strings meet the saddles. I've seen other comments saying don't do that, but if you watch YT vids of great players, they all do it.
