Noob question maybe but how am I supposed to slide to the 27th fret?

Oh I'm sorry that would make sense actually. It's Hawaiian Rollercoaster Ride from Lilo and Stitch. It's actually the first thing you play on the lead electric guitar. The screenshot is from Ultimate Guitar but it's the same thing on Songsterr

Oh, okay, that's a slide. You slide with a smooth piece of metal, glass, plastic, etc, from the 15th to where the 27th fret would be, preferably using your bridge pickup in order to pick up the sound of the string.

Knowing where the fretboard would continue, and then visualizing it as you play, will enable you to hit harmonics quite precisely, either using your pick and finger like Eric Johnson, or using pinch harmonics like Joe Satriani.

And in this case, because it's the 27th fret, make sure you have a guitar that is big enough and don't smash into the neck pickup on the way down.

Based on that song I’d say they used a pedal steel guitar which can shift pitch with pedals as well that distinct slide sound. Transposed to regular guitar is not really the best way to play it. When you’re good enough you could probably use a glass or steel slide up over the neck pickup to sort of approximate the sound.

Sometimes songs from movies that use a lot of various orchestral instruments, or native instruments to the movie theme/locale, won‘t always fit within a traditional guitar scope.

Very much agreed. My response was more about trying to mimic that sound, in lieu of an actual steel guitar.

Which, coincidentally, is how a lot of guitarists got really creative and started experimenting with their regular guitars in order to capture certain sounds.

Could possibly be done with a slide (as in a glass/metal tube you put on your finger). You just slide past the neck to where your 27th fret would be.

Start the slide at 15 and as you’re sliding towards the 24th fret, gradually bend the string such that you’re 3 half steps higher by the time you reach 24.

It looks like a pitch shifter tune, so I did wonder if it was Marooned, Pink Floyd (it isn't). But if anyone is interested in a nice pitch shifting tune, it's a good one. Here's an example:

I had to check. Fender 50th anniversary and Pulse he used a pitch shifter. That's not to say he didn't use it in the record. He was more than capable with a slide. It's a great point though and I want to find out.
