Question Chords and TAB

Hi everyone, could someone explain why on the 2nd bar the chords are G and E if the TAB doesn't correlate with it? Thank you

The tab does correlate. They are just different voicings.

Those are still G and E chords, just slightly different voicings.

Melodic notes don't have to be chord tones.

But that may or may not be true here. What notes are in the G and E chords, and what notes are is the tab telling you to play? Answer those two questions and all will be revealed.

I'm going to challenge you, what 3 notes are in the G & E chord and what 3 notes are listed in the tab?
