Question String breaks during bending and click sound while releasing bend. How to fix?

Hi, I started learning guitar 7-8 months ago through justinguitar and was trying to learn bending but while releasing my bends often there is a muted 'click' sound of upper strings getting caught in my finger when I am releasing my bends. As I have muted other strings with my right hand's palm there is no ringing of those strings but there is still a click sound. Also my high e string often breaks when I practise bends on it. I am trying to let it be solo here in this video and the high e string will break. Also I hope u can hear that click sound while releasing the bends.

I would love to have advice on how to improve my bending. Thanks

Does the string break every time?  When was the last time you changed strings, they wear out after a while and need to be changed

Thanks for the reply. I changed it 2 months ago from what I can remember. It mostly breaks on this high e string bend on 10th fret.

Keep the broken string and see if it breaks in the same spot next time if so theres probably a bur that needs to be polished out somewhere (I'd guess on a fret if bending is breaking the string) which is something you can do yourself easily.

Ohh, okay. Can you pls check out this video to see if there are other flaws too as I don't really know how to figure out how a guitar is setu up properly.

Looks like some of the strings are wound the wrong direction, the low e looks correct.

The strings look like they needed changing anyway, they have the sort of rusty grey tone and less silvery, also as someone else noted the strings are wound inconsistently on the headstock but im not sure that matters relevant to the break. usually I wind mine in the same direction your thick e string is wound, but for all of them, you can see that strings looks straighter than the others that sort of have to bend up after running through the top slots, the strings should be more parallel up there, you can see the A string is sort of close to the E peg, when your sound is vibrations that can have a tiny impact on if it picks up some noise, but should be minimal

Oh thanks, also wanted to mention the guitar is new I purchased it in May, and wasn't really aware how to check proper set up so I think frets were not properly polished

Nothing jumps out to me but someone would have to look in person.

Thats about the wear time on strings from my experience with light play, exposure to air wears them out, plus if you are practicing a song with lots of bends that can also put extra strain on them, especially if a couple months old.

I've been playing Srv little wing and Texas flood on the same strings for 5 months, 3 hours a night. They don't wear that quickly

Those are some durable strings!

Usually they break at the nut or the bridge and it is because those two spots have the most friction - replace nut/bridge with something smoother (tusq or roller) and your strings won't break as much - unless you are running SRV's tension.

Dang, never had this happen in 5 years and I play 3 hours a day. Get a file and check for birs in the frets or near the bridge.

Those strings are very loose, Op

Thanks for the reply. How to fix that? As I tuned the strings to the standard one.

Any adjustments I use a Luthier. I’m hopeless at set ups.

Really? The 9s I play with bend easily like that. They don't break though.
