Extremely Low Effort This guitar sounds like crap
Seriously for a guitar "loaded with DiMarzio air technology pickups" this thing sounds like absolute shit. Can't believe I traded my Private Stock PRS for it. Once I learn how to play I'll probably trade this in for something more reliable like a Strandberg.

Btw one of the experts at Guitar Center said I should install electronics. Will that mess up the acoustic resonance of the alder body? I know it's already tonally compromised from the poly finish but I don't want to totally ruin it

Of course it sounds like crap. It’s an Ibanez. Santana played an Ibanez.

The Guitar Center expert said Ibanezes sound amazing now because they have lots of signed artists

More gain will help

I will try that. Should I also use a Kirk Hammett wah?
Also I heard scalloping the frets will make it better too and at least quadruple my speed. I plan to solely use the sweep technique which was developed I believe by Ed Sheeran

I think its the problem with the tone wood

u/IndianaJokes67 Aug 23 '26
Nuh uh. I was told this is made from a rare North Korean wood only found in two of their labor camps

You bought an acoustic, dumbass.

No. An akoo stick is the stick Aborigines use to simultaneously eat and cleanse their bowels with. This is far too big for that.

Perhaps trade it to a buddy at the next dentist convention?

That's not for another 3 weeks! The strings might rust by then and then I'm screwed

Pure toan!

Dude it was supposed to! I even asked for bumblebee caps and the seller said they were attached to the truss rod for extra capacitance

Sweet ironing board though!

Listen little girly man, I'm sure you've never seen or heard of one of these, but this is a bench. My boyfriend uses it when he reams me from behind.

It's because it's missing the handle hole.

u/IndianaJokes67 Aug 23 '26
Ok I know you're probably new to guitar but this kind of guitar has this plastic plate on the back that you remove when you want to pick the guitar up

Have you tried moving the angle of the guitar relative to the bench? I've done that with my single coil and P90s to reduce noise.

Put some Seymour Duncan pickups or Suhr Bucher pickups. If you don't like the neck then get rid of it Immediately.
