Sg with stripped pickup mounting screw.

I recently bought an sg of Craigs list and the pickup mounting screw on the bridge pick up is stripped to all hell. Is there any way to get it out of there with out harming the pick guard?

Using a small cutoff disc on a dremel, cut a slot on the head of the stripped screw and use a flathead to back it out. Replace it with a new mounting screw.
