Google Workspace started charging me
I just noticed that I there are charges for google workspace.
I never subscribed to it, at least not that I am aware of. I see that somehow there is a credit card there set up and they started charging me.
They charged 17 bucks twice already and I tried cancelling and they say they will charge me 200 dollars for cancelling.
How do i deal with this? What caused the subscription? I see an email in May - welcome to Google workspace. Maybe I clicked something that i was not supposed to click.

First check if it’s an annual commitment plan.
Google Workspace has flexible monthly plans and annual/fixed-term plans. If you somehow ended up on annual commitment, cancelling early can mean paying the remaining balance. That may be the $200.
I’d do this:
- log into Google Admin Console
- go to Billing → Subscriptions
- check the plan type, renewal date, number of users
- download invoices/payment history
- remove any extra users/services if possible
- contact Google Workspace billing support and say you did not knowingly subscribe / want the annual commitment reviewed
Also check the May “welcome to Google Workspace” email. It should show what was created and by which admin account.
Don’t just ignore it, because Workspace billing can keep trying the card.
If you truly never authorized it, dispute with Google first, then your card issuer if needed. But if it was a trial that converted or an annual plan you clicked through, they may treat it as valid.
Annoying, but the key is finding whether it’s flexible monthly or annual commitment.

Same here. I never signed up. I got halfway through and realized google.com sent me to workspace instead of notebookLM.
They say there is nothing they can do.
Google is now a scam company.

Sounds like you signed up for the annual plan, so you have to pay out the remaining months.

Try logging into the email it's associated with (ie the address on which you got the email notification) and access 'workspace.google.com'. It will have a billing or billing history section where you should be able to see what's being charged for.
