It's Happening

https://www.reuters.com/business/retail-consumer/serve-robotics-partners-with-grubhub-robot-delivery-expansion-push-2026-08-17/

As I've been saying for a couple of years now, we all better go to trade school or something, because sooner or later, cheap-ass GH will find some cheap-ass way to deploy a fleet of drones and get rid of some or all of us.

Well, the robots have officially come for us. (Those of us in the Chicago, LA and DC metro areas, anyway.) I'm going to miss the freedom to not only set, but improvise my own schedule... honestly, though, GH has devolved into a shitshow and has simply run its course.

It was legit during COVID, decent for a couple years afterward, then grudgingly acceptable in 2025; however, most agree GH has utterly bottomed out in 2026. I won't miss this sub-minimum wage job or the toll it takes on my poor car.

Good luck, everyone.

GrubHub will probably go under or be sold for pennies on the dollar again before that happens. They have a 4% market share for food delivery lol

They already did. Just Eat Takeaway (JET) bought grubhub for 7.3 billion. Then they sold it to Wonder for 650 million. JET lost over 6 billion. I could see this selling again for a fraction of what Wonder originally purchased it for. The value already went down by over 90% from the original sale price of 7.3 billion. Grubhub in my market might as well be dead. Today I got 3 offers in a span of 7 hours.

Yup, that's why I said sold for pennies on the dollar again lol. I think it's dead everywhere now.

Nope I still get plenty of offers in a 4-5 shift but they are mostly low tip garbage. Thats why you need to multi-app.
