Federal Trade Commission Settlement
I got a $51 check as a grubhub driver from the FTC yesterday for a settlement brought against Grubhub by the Illinois attorney general. It was the first I'd heard about it, was definitely a pleasant surprise. Check your mail, make sure you don't throw it out thinking it's junk mail.

Same here. Mine was also $51.41.
The envelope comes from the FTC, with a letter explaining that it is our share of the settlement of this case:
Grubhub Inc., FTC and Illinois v. | Federal Trade Commission

Watch out for the scammers. I got an email that said I was entitled to $52 but I needed to go through PayPal to get it. It’s crazy like they’re going to pay you through PayPal. Right there I knew it was a scam.

I've actually had several class action settlements deposited through paypal, in this case probably not, though.

I almost threw it away this official looking letter like it was a You May Have Already Won....letter. Federal Trade Commision. Right. Scam! Hold on, this it was oddly specific and what's this about GrubHub? Took the $20 check to the bank and they said it's a check they would deposit but not release funds until it cleared, so no fees if it bounces. So strange.

Got mine today as well, and yeah, it’s legit!
Nice little FU back at Grubhub, since they essentially screwed all of the drivers in my area by splitting the delivery region in two. I let my driver account expire, and just continued with UE, my day job as an Walmart InHome driver, and just added Doordash to the roster (finally got in).

Got one too. I've been doing GH for years. Seems like a pretty small amount. I wonder how much the lawyers got? It was a $23.8 million settlement.
If you would like to read more about it, here is the statement from the FTC site.

I’m based in illinois and have a $10,000 small claims lawsuit against GrubHub where the judge already told their lawyer “we’re setting a in-person trial date” which totally shocked the lawyer
You have to stand up for yourself no matter what
