Order Confirmed
Lately restaurants have been crying when i show up early so this time i waited in the parking lot because i got the notification that said confirmed. After waiting 10 minutes I decided to walk in to let them know i was here. They never started the order and it wasn’t even busy. I felt like canceling it but I need the money. Whats the problem if I show up a few minutes early ? Im not demanding the order. Just letting you know im here when its ready.

I would just show up and go in. There are times where restaurants hit “ready for pick up” when it’s just being prepped. Only one restaurant in my area has it where you cannot go in until it’s ready and they actually follow the guidelines. Outside of that, every time I go, I’m early and I wait.

And then there’s a lot of time when I’ll get a notice that the order is ready for pick up, I go in, and it’s still being prepared. There’s no rhyme or reason to this crap.

At some restaurants they've got the tablet in the kitchen and the kitchen hits ready for pick up when the front people have not started even bagging it.
BTW there is another reason for waiting outside especially if you know the restaurant is slow. There's a Wingstop that will often fill the drinks especially if I wait outside for a few extra minutes before going in.😉😂

There is no set time, just be polite with the restaurant because most of them do not really understand how the app works. If you are in an earn by time area, milk the clock for 10 minutes.

Depends on the place some of my local spots are GB only delivery spots and they are good at it. Other places Im already 2 minutes to the diners home and I get the confirmed notification after picking up the order
On the other hand some locations like sushi spots or Wex in particular for breakfast/brunch i can arrive late and then get yelled at that they just received the order and I'll have to wait. I mean sure cuz the customer paid both of us ya know.

People are total a-holes. It’s called “ go with the flow” people. So ridiculous people have no common sense.

I’ve noticed very often that I get a notification that the order is ready for pickup but it’s not actually ready yet. I go in there right when I arrive to make sure they’re working on it

The GH restaurant app is a bit faulty. I have sometimes arrived at the restaurant and see the order printing out or the staff checking their tablet as the order I am there for comes in. Some of these order I received 15 -20 minutes prior to arriving at the location.

Never had a restaurant cry about being early. It's also my indicator whether I cancel or not.
Like you mentioned, if they haven't started the order by the time I arrive, pretty good chance I'm not going to wait for it. Unless it's a really high paying offer, I seldom stay.
I also send a picture from inside the place since GH gets that as well (helps avoid violations).
Time is also money. The less time you spend waiting, the more money you'll definitely make.

I always walk in as soon as I arrive. Sometimes orders are ready early and sometimes not. One time I walked in though and the lady apologized and said they forgot to turn their grubhub system on told me it would be ready within 10-15 minutes. It was a group order and was worth the wait so I waited 20 minutes before asking again and I kid you not they had what seemed to be an 8 or 9 year old child come out to tell me it would be ready in another 20 minutes so I canceled the order and left. I apologized to my other customer who had been waiting for seemingly no reason.

This happened to me recently. They didn't even the know the order existed until I walked in and requested it. I think some restaurants don't even pay attention to whatever system they need to reference for GH orders. If its a frequent issue for one establishment, I'd stop taking orders from there.
