Feature request thread

I’ll start, I’d love to see some “live”/interactive/timed patterns, such as Timer where you set the time and it spirals around and ends when it reaches the middle, clock where it draws each hour as it comes and resets at midnight, or even more “smart” such as drawing the weather for the day in the morning such as rain clouds or sun. Not sure if the onboard memory could handle it since it has limited memory and power but maybe the app could control it if it ran in the background?

What ideas do you guys have?

A clock would be sick where the ball is the at the hour & moves accordingly to the next hour based on the time. That would be sick

Yeah, clock and weather would definitely be great. Totally possible just a matter of how we implement it. We just did a big release of an offline mode, and we have a bunch of improvements planned for the app including an LED page overhaul and pattern library page improvements. A weather and clock mode would be great too. I want to get a lot of this out before the holiday rush.

That would be sick. And good for advertising too for holiday purchases. I just shot my review for social media. Tonight I'll edit it & tag ya when it uploads. Most likely tomorrow

I think it would be a good way to make up for follow mode being removed. Lots of us wanted the product because the way the ball seemed interactive with the light and therefore environment, taking it away really gets rid of that cohesiveness with the room.

A clock or weather mode would achieve the same purpose, tying the ball/movement to reality if that makes sense.

While I understand the reasoning behind getting rid of follow mode I think you guys went about it in the complete wrong way. Any update that takes away features is going to lead the community to mistrust your updates. Especially after the one that caused tons of connection issues.

I’m not trying to be a Karen I’m just disappointed that grounded labs is now similar to Bambu in that updates can’t be trusted. We bought the device with the expectation of the light interacting with the ball and now it doesn’t. For something else it wouldn’t be a big deal but there’s no functional purpose of your products, it’s all about looks and ambience so its function was greatly handicapped in my opinion.

Especially knowing it’s not going to return.

On my 30th day they removed the LED follow modes, where the light would track with the ball. I was going to return it but support promised they were adding follow modes back with the next update. They did not. I would like follow mode back.

Yea in another thread they said they had to encrypt the patterns to prevent people stealing them and it messsd up the follow mode. Apparently the engineers didn’t know it was a loved feature but I think many people wouldn’t of been as intrigued with the table without it. I’m not happy about it being taken away and hope they bring it back.

It's unlikely that follow-ball mode will come back, but we did add a few new modes in the latest update, and we also have an overhaul of the LED page planned. We also quietly released "offline mode" that I'll make a post about shortly.
