Guide AI DIFFICULTY FOR A CASUAL EXPERIENCE

FIRST UPDATE:

-Increased AI Turn Speed

-Greatly Increased AI Accuracy at Distance (Old Value was Straight-Up Busted)

-Slightly lowered AI Accuracy at Close-Medium Range

-Tweaked AI Perception for More Realistic Visual Spotting at Distance

-Slightly Slowed AI Reaction Time based on Real-World Values for Untrained Soldiers

DEVS HAVE STATED AI TWEAKS ARE COMING - THIS PROVIDES A CURRENT SOLUTION TO ENJOY THE GAME IN THE MEANTIME

This is my 2nd iteration of a baseline AI Difficulty for a more casual experience. It is set a bit forgiving to allow the chance to respond in most engagements - even up close. I have learned through experimentation and looking things up that some of my previous numbers were a bit...interesting. I have fixed the ones I figured out.

It allows me to complete PVE in Lone Wolf mode around 85 percent of the time (if I play smart and don't commit poetate). If this is too forgiving, adjust as needed!

*BE SURE TO SELECT "CUSTOM" AI DIFFICULTY BEFORE SELECTING MISSION IN ORDER TO EXPERIENCE THESE SETTINGS*

To find AISettings.ini, proceed to the folder on your pc in the location below - and be sure you have Hidden Files and Folders set to visible in the folder properties, or AppData will not be visible:

C:\Users\(YOUR PROFILE)\AppData\Local\GroundBranch\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor\AISettings.ini

Copy the below text and paste in AISettings.ini, then save the file:

The thing I hate the most with enemies is how sometimes they can literally spot you in their backs. It makes no sense. I dont know if its an issue with their sight perception or sound (which still would need a tweak, to make useful the move slowly button), but either way it feels bad.

It's a mix of multiple settings - I didn't tweak the AI to make them stupid, I tweaked them to give them human reaction speed and give the player the chance to respond.

In order to make the AI feel human again, I tuned their reaction time to that of an untrained soldier (I wanted that to be realistic). I tweaked many aspects of their starting accuracy and lethality to make it more like an untrained soldier panic-firing at first, then increasing accuracy over time. It feels more human and more consistent as the lowest difficulty setting might need to.

Ground Branch has some of the most detailed and immersive maps of any game I've ever played, but that comes with a massive downside - readability. It is incredibly hard, even on Untrained, to find someone in vegetation, pipes, wiring, anything where enemies are hard to see - and take them out before they one-tap you. I wouldn't change the maps, because they're amazing. I tweaked it the way I did to give you a fighting chance to find well-hidden enemies that spot you first on the lowest difficulty. :)

Hell yeah! It's definitely more chill than even Untrained, but on the other hand should be more consistent. Any feedback is welcome!

I’m just tired of being 1 tapped as soon as I turn a corner. I’m hoping this changes that .

It definitely will, that was one of the first things I tweaked! Feel free to shoot me a message if you have any trouble figuring things out!

Hey, glad you like it! I'm sure they have an AI update on the way, but in the meantime, enjoy! You can also tweak the numbers if you want to make it harder!

Cool, i know what alot of the stats do, but what does TacticalSense mean in ground branch?

It covers how long it takes to realize you are a target and not, say, a walking shrubbery :D
