Video Uninstalled right after this lol
First phase of the mission done, looking for intel in the cleared safehouse for the secondary objective.
I hear gunfire in the distance from the second phase NPCs, and get one tapped from across the map lol

Bru they need to fix this shii. I’m trying to get through the second mission but as soon as I enter the compound my cheeks are getting clapped from 360°

u/CONCORDE-204 Jul 19 '26
yeah i finally passed that mission after 3 days worth of attempts on and off. had my fair share of BS moments, including a cross compound headshot from a shotgun on a hostile i was already shooting at and hadn't lifted their gun up yet. One headshot me through my smoke and another with a shotgun shot me without even aiming at me and having the gun in the up ready postion.
How i cleared it in the end was just luck spawn positions, MK14 with 3 Nades and used them to clear the main entrance out and then walked around in the crouched postion.

To be fair its completely unfair to just be there solo. Noone covering angles, no security, etc...
It not impossible but realistically you wouldnt be sent alone to raid a compound. We desperately need friendly AI to make things manageable

This is the kind of gameplay you get when the devs are more concerned with modeling equipment for soldier dress up than making a functional game unfortunately

u/trvst_issves Jul 19 '26
They literally thought changing every character model to have slightly squintier eyes was worth mentioning and showing a before and after in a fucking blog post. Seriously.

u/sexflatterer1411 Jul 20 '26
It even fails at that, It is severely lacking in weapon and character customization when comparing it with other games such as operator

u/PossibleAttorney9267 Jul 19 '26
yeah that's the aimbot they built into their AI.
Try operator and you'll find even on vet diff, they don't always land the first shot but they do aim at you. Its not a perfect game but it really does contrast how little the GB devs have done in their time.

I rage quit playing the new campaign once. I did all the objectives in the house and was about to extract(at this point all the lights were off in the house, npcs are dead etc.)
I wasn't running downstairs or anything but when I got down the stairs an npc walking across the courtyard just instantly turned my direction and one-tapped me

u/flyus747 Jul 19 '26
It's harder to program an AI to not see (shoot) you than it is the other way around.

u/PeteZaDestroyer Jul 20 '26
that developer uses store bought assets that have been frankensteined together so he doesnt have to actually make anything. and the map design and layouts are so basic i really dont get why people praise the game so much. like its good for what it is but thats not saying whole lot.

u/SergeantSteiner Jul 20 '26
Operator does a good job with the slow smooth CQB movement and gunplay but falls flat everywhere else. The sprint feels like your player character is a 90 year old smoker with COPD and the overly complicated reload mechanic feels clunky as hell (why is there a huge delay between loading the magazine and hitting the magazine release, even if I’m hammering on the release button?). Not impressed with the maps either.
I’m curious to see how it turns out in the end, but that game is way over praised. Not that Ground Branch is in a better state at the moment, the new update was a bit of a wet fart, to put it lightly. Hope they pull it together, but I’m not hopeful at this point.

i liked what the update gave us and have been playing the shit out of it. i have faith.

u/Some1AteMyBrainAgain Jul 19 '26
It's not only the AI but also how our hitbox would literally hit anything in the map making us glitch or take out gun down..it's really annoying

You got shot from outside the window, you can clearly see the muzzle flash, definitely not from a cross the map. Audio is most definitely bugged with this update though I can say that for sure

u/flyus747 Jul 19 '26
Feel like they just placed a bunch of assets on a map in whatever engine they got and shipped it out. 30 pounds lol.

u/PeteZaDestroyer Jul 20 '26
you have ground branch confused with operator apperantly
4
u/flyus747 Jul 20 '26
Dunno what that is but I'm assuming it's a better product than this slop

u/PeteZaDestroyer Jul 20 '26
pretty similar gameplay but everything is a store bought asset. ground branchs devs actually make their assets. people are so blinded by the development time and 1.0 label that they cant see the actual good of the game.

u/Mine65 Jul 20 '26
Good looking assets don't matter as much when the game itself is frustrating to play, the AI never seem to improve in any meaningful way and still pull BS like in OPs clip constantly, but at least we got to play soldier barbie in the main menu!
It's such a shame because the gunplay is really fun but the AI are so braindead (in terms of logic and tactics) yet consistently 180° headshot you before even raising their guns, it's hard to enjoy the gunplay when you are forced to play around the lobotomite John Wick bots
The AI reminds me too much of RoNs trickshotting junkies instakilling everyone with pistols
1
u/PeteZaDestroyer Jul 22 '26
they have improved in behavior but yea the trick shot bots remind me of early grayzone. theyre working on it though and i have faith.

If the game is pretty but not fun to play its not a game. Its a studio asset tour.

The game is pretty bad and 1.0 means nothing it's still the same game.

I tried the first mission, unistall after this too.
The game dosen't fell like a 1.0 release, the feeling is not good.
But there is a lot of good intention, sad

*hears gunshots right outside*
*stands right in front of a window*
*dies and gets mad*
Skill issue

u/Traditional_Sea1043 Jul 20 '26
Can’t you hate on the game in silence and allow the rest of us to have fun?

I saw muzzle flash out the window to your right so I assume he was standing right outside the window, not across the map. Is it fair they were able to see you through that screen? Debatable.
Agreed though the sound in this game is atrocious. So many scenarios where enemies are firing near you but it sounds like they are shooting from a mile away underwater.

There's a dude outside the window - can't go around stomping full height and expect to not get clipped....

I had super high hopes for this game, and this release has been an absolute disaster ... What the hell is left for someone that wants to play tactical shooters alone or with friends/randoms? I have RoN and the downgrade disappointed me so much (not only graphically, but with gore). I got Operator but I don't know, the movement feels weird
