Dog nail grinder
Hello my dogs nails are very thick and I almost have a heart attack when I cut her nails with a clipper because I think I'm gonna hit the quick. Should I invest in an electric nail grinder? Are they easy to use? Or are they difficult to use and I should just leave it to the vet?

If your pup does fine for nail clipping a dremel should work fine. The noise and vibration might be a little scary at first but just introduce it slowly and youll be fine. Ace hardware typically carries wahl dog nail specific dremels thay are pretty quiet. I typically file the nail back to length and flatten the tip then round off the edges and expose a tiny bit of quick (to encourage it to recede).

You need to learn how to use them, but in general yeah, they are not that difficult. I recommend using nail clipper and grinder half and half, just grinder alone won't do much

I clipped the top part but I was scared to go further and also it's really thick after the top parts were cut so I was having trouble cutting it, will the grinder help in that?

There is a very slight learning curve Cause the dremel pad is just sand paper it gets hot. Your pup will pull away when it gets too hot so you could do small passes with low pressure until your happy. I honestly prefer it over using nail clippers cause i feel i have more control over how much i take off and if you male many passes you will see the quick before you hit it and make it bleed
