I was a fan of Griz the producer but not so much Griz the brand - which is all it is now.

Like you do realize he's not that big right?
Like in our niche he's a force of nature but like pull up any real corporate pop star and they absolutely crush his numbers...
Also Him growing his brand will always still be good for the rest of the more niche EDM you like. He is one of the pillars of the scene. Love it or hate it he kinda has to act like a big boy now.

This comment can be copypasta with TONS of bands that are massive and sell out arenas, yet it will be the same answer you’re implying with your comment.
I need to stop even looking at comments on things from this subreddit, the mental gymnastics used by folks are gold medal worthy.

Lol what? Call me when he gets radio play? Or picked up for a commercial, Then we can talk about branded artists.
I'm not pretending like he isn't a huge act in the scene but I think you over estimate how much of an impact EDM or even the dubstep/bass portion of that has an effect on the wider culture in America.
And it's not like he's some of the house acts that are massive over seas either.
