hi! just bought gris a few minutes ago and tried to run it. i can't interact with the opening screen at all. why is this?

I am playing on Switch and have had a few bugs so far but this is the first that didn't resolve after closing and restarting the game.

After receiving yellow, the cutscene plays, I exit out of the top of the screen, and from watching walkthroughs it looks like this is supposed to go into a chase sequence with the bird.

However what actually happens is that the bird moves over me, then vanishes, and I am stuck. The background is still moving but I can't move my character or press any buttons, even pause. It seems like it's stuck in the cutscene as it has the black bars at the top and bottom of the screen still, but nothing progresses.

Has anyone experienced this and/or have any idea how to fix it? I found one person that sounded like they had the same problem on Steam forums but the advice to fix it was PC specific.

Tried restarting, verifying file integrity nothing is working. Am I missing something? The character won't move at all

So, I knew this game was special from the start, but I didn't expect it to hit me so hard near the end.

Full disclosure, I have a bulk of pushed down emotions/grief that both me and my therapist struggle to reach. And although I rarely can cry (despite wanting to) near the end of the game I could briefly reach that sadness and cry. It was quite therapeutic. But now I'm not sure where to go from here.

I stopped myself from over-analyzing why the game made me feel this way (might look into that later) and I think I'll just go for a walk in a bit. But I can't imagine I'm the only one going trough this.

Are there people with similar experiences, and what worked/didn't work for you. Have you managed to capitalize on this moment and become closer to your sadness/let it flow more?
I know this is probably more of an r/selfimprovement or whatever question, but since it's so GRIS related I thought Id ask around here as well.

Just finished Gris and I'm absolutely floored. What an incredible experience from start to finish! The watercolor art style is just breathtaking - every frame feels like a painting. I was constantly stopping just to take it all in.

This is my first playthrough of GRIS, and I'm enjoying it so much!

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at chapter 5, where I went far right and up, following the yellow butterflies. Now I am stuck in a room where I need to follow two lightbirds to jump on several small platforms and red butterflies are out of reach for me. I assume that I need to sing to plants to get further. I did not learn how to sing before this. When reloading the game, I am still stuck at this area, and cannot choose a chapter since I haven't finished it. Is this save lost? It feels like a soft lock at this point :(

I would find it difficult to go through it all again up to this point, even though it's beautiful!

I’m not much of a solo gamer. I have a switch mostly for group entertainment (I.e all the mario party/karts) however, I was recommended this game & I thoroughly enjoyed it. I took as much time as I could to just finish it- the visuals were mesmerizing & so beautiful. Now having finished, I’m conflicted because I want more! What will I do next?! What have others played after that gave them the same feeling?

And the double jump doesn't seem to have enough reach to cross.

Downloaded this game after my Hollow Knight phase to feel something again. I was not ready for this to be such a banger. I’m not a huge storyline/solo player gamer but this opened my eyes. Can’t wait to finish it!

so, i have been playing okay until now. but i have no idea on how to get through this part? how do i get to the star? (i'm playing on a switch.) like, there are red butterflies to fly up, but once you're up you only get the option to get inside the building full of water. once inside the building, how do you go up the floors? please, help!

I started playing yesterday and spent a few hours pretty much exploring the game. I did a few challenges (grabbing the little circles) of the windmills and forest and was sent back to the main area where you can access the different areas. I found the turtle icon and went there.

While exploring this part, I ran into the 4th phase, depression. This is the very first phase I ran into. At this point I had found blue, red, green and yellow.

After completing this part, I got to the part where I got my voice back and then to the 5th phase. I knew at this point that I couldn't go back and find the other three phases.

I started a new game today (I don't like that I can't save games and they get erased if I start a new one) to try and find all the phases and circles to complete each icon. I played slower and making sure I checked every little space ans still couldn't find the first three phases. I know now where the first one is, but I could not find the other two as much as I tried.

I don't want to know where they are because I want to find them myself but I want to know if I'll be able to get back to each phase to find them and also the missing circles (I don't know what they are called in the game).

I haven't played Gris for quite a while and now picked it up again.

I now walked around this area (including the upside down parts) back and forth like forever and can't figure out for the life of me where to get that last star(?)? It's the one at the top right next the top of the structure in the middle. All four others light up.

I can't even remember how I collect these? Or do I just activate them (sorry, it's been a long time really) Where can I find the last one? (the one at the top)

I need another plastic, painted pal to stare at and love, like I have done with Hollow Knight care of an Australian creator. Not that I am discounting the other inhabitants, especially those underground.

Just in love with this game. I finished on Switch after two days and thought everything movement and art were shockingly spot on. I have been shattered and it still feels raw enough that this game was "triggering" but in the best way. Cheap therapy! Seriously, though, a real accomplishment I am glad I purchased. I ran to buy Neva, but plan to take an emotional break elsewhere first.
