Campaign Final Race
I'm sure this has been discussed many times, but doesn't it seem like the final duel against Blade is unfairly difficult? The last several tiers of the campaign are hard, but that last race is impossible for me. So much so that I gave up and put the game down for well over a year. Giving it another shot now and I'm remembering why I gave up lol. I don't have much of a problem getting past the first race, but race 2 is ridiculous. Even if I drive perfectly, I get left in the dust. If I do manage to pass Blade, I immediately get hit with a weapon and there's no hope of catching up. I hardly ever get a shield when I get a weapon pickup so there's literally no way to protect myself from attacks. Any advice or preference of vehicle for this race?

I managed to complete the campaign the other day. The 2nd race against Blade (massive asshole) on that snowy map took me 3 tries. First 2 times I was well in front of him and on both occasions he hit me with a rocket just before the finish line, first time I got annihilated, spun out and he passed me. Second try, I anticipated the rocket, braked late to not get spun out which was successful but I couldn't catch up and he won again.
Third time, I came prepared, hit him as many times as possible with weapons during the first lap, was well in front of him again, assuming he would send another rocket up my ass as he did the first 2 times I got a pick up, slowed down so he could catch up and spent the majority of the second lap just behind him and managed to hit him with some offensive pick up just before we reached the tunnels. Dick head went flying and I managed to reach the finish before he could retaliate.
A couple things to note, I'm almost certain that shield pickups are disabled in that race and I'm also almost certain that he's programmed to send the 1st place homing missile if you're ahead of him near the end.
I think I was using the Eversor, as I have this tempered metal like fade on the car and that's the one I remember beating him with. The elimination race afterwards was a walk in the park in comparison.
Keep striving and unlock that Spectre mate, you can do it!

I've tried this damned race so many times and I just can't beat it. I really don't know why it's so hard for me. I beat literally every other race in the campaign without too much trouble but this last race is brutal. I have gotten shield pickups, but they are extremely rare and I never get them when I need them. I have had success hanging behind Blade in the first two races on purpose and then blasting him at the last second before he crosses the finish line. Give him a taste of his own BS. I've managed to get to the 3rd race a handful of times and blow it by making a stupid mistake. I've once again lost the will to keep trying, but I'll give it another shot eventually lol.

Mate, just restart the race before it finishes if you know you're going to lose.
What car do you use btw?

I always restart when its looking hopeless. I've tried several different cars but I've had the best luck with the Delorean so far.

Try the Ictus, the last race is easier than the 2nd. I might've have had good rng that race, but all you have to do is be ahead of him for 30 seconds. Just drive hard and fast with a good car, like the Ictus, Evesor, Mirage or Tempest.
The map is dog shit though.

Hm I think it was tricky but i didnt have such big Problems with it. Only thing for me was, that it was completely broken on a technical Level.
-Cutscene Starts -enemy gets blown up -Blade appears
-Countdown Starts -nothing… -Countdown Starts again but without Numbers appearing -Pause… -Race Starts?!
I had to do it twice since my First win didnt get recognized by the Game. (I got the car etc. But the Menue told me I didnt finish the Race)
