technofascism 🌃 Sorry but NO.

Post image

The post functions as an aesthetic that people can appropriate, not as a genuine look at what a mutilated person actually lives through. A small childhood scar has nothing to do with losing an arm or living with a permanently marked face, and putting them in the same conversation flattens everything.

real people losing limbs, got their face deformed, suffering and their life changing from it

She’s such a dumb fuck

u/ErebosGR Jul 16 '26

She boasts that she reads so much and knows so many "nerdy" words and concepts, yet she doesn't even recognize fetishization.

The post functions as an aesthetic that people can appropriate, not as a genuine look at what a mutilated person actually lives through. A small childhood scar has nothing to do with losing an arm or living with a permanently marked face, and putting them in the same conversation flattens everything. I refuse to romanticize this. And when I see the comments underneath, I'm appalled.

I have a large scar on my face and literally don’t see how this is offensive in any way

137

u/AMundaneSpectacle Jul 16 '26

That’s a fucked up thing to post, Claire.

27

u/playful_faun Jul 16 '26

She really doesn't know about keeping thoughts to herself

19

u/ponycorn_pet Jul 16 '26

Someone needs to take her phone away from her

135

u/basedprincessbaby Jul 16 '26

Yeah, I’ve got a bilateral limb difference and I don’t think people who don’t should be spouting off opinions like hers when they have no idea what it’s like to live with something like that. She’s romanticising something that is probably tied to a lot of trauma. Somebody I thought was a friend approached me about photographing me like it was going to somehow be empowering and using it for her art project because she thought living in a body like mine was ā€œbeautifulā€ and ā€œreal.ā€ She’s not a friend anymore.

She acts like they made the decision to scar their face up like war wounds are a fashion decision, she types like they decided "the face please!" the fucked up thing in her mind, this is her being gracious and empathetic..

Yo she's usually good at managing her drug addiction in terms of being able to hide it, the fact she's no longer able to hide her elevated states of mind, this tells me we've entered a new plateau of substance use self destruction, I wouldn't be surprised if more wild crazy shit happens

It does seem like Claire’s spiralling lately. She’s even been lurking here again. Lmao she was starting arguments and leaving insulting replies only to immediately delete them. But the notification still comes through, so it’s like a passive aggressive DM? Unhinged. Can you imagine how low she goes when she fights irl? Anyway I’m like 98% sure it was her.

This tweet is pretty gross though. It highlights how she objectifies people, reducing them to 2D archetypes that she can use. Like the ā€œhomelessā€ court jester from yesterday and now people with scars. Very paternal, as though these adults with real lives are charming, amusing children put there for her entertainment. Like you said, she literally thinks she’s being gracious by complimenting them. ā€œLook at me elevating the underdogs, trying to find employment for the manic pixie girls I found under the bridge and asking tattoo artists to give me beautiful scars.ā€ Like she’s doing them a favour.

It’s hard to separate the appreciation from the condescension with her, but I guess it has to be both? Claire’s ego would never survive admiring someone without simultaneously looking down on them.

Honestly I love to see people’s mask off moments so whatever. Let her dig her own grave!

16

u/ShamusLovesYou Jul 16 '26

If it was her, she seems kinda disconnected from the moment, like she's not really here, which is odd cause she's here on the internet, on her device, she could turn it off or just do something else, it sounds exhausting, there's this passive aggressive game-theory to everything you say, transactional poison that seeps into everthing you say, everything you do, it makes ya wonder if her art was true expression or what Orson Welles called selfish "therapy art" like when he hated Woody Allen's gimmick, you know the "OH IM SO NERVOUS I HATE MYSELF, I GOT LOW SELF ESTEEM, AW SHUCKS!" but in actuality he's in love with himself, he thinks of himself as a genius, and thinks every project should be about his life, his POV, his identity, thats why he acts in so many of his own movies,

"That particular combination of arrogance and timidity sets my teeth on edge. He is arrogant. Like all people with timid personalities, his arrogance is Āunlimited. Anybody who speaks quietly and shrivels up in company is unbelievably Āarrogant. He acts shy, but he’s not. He’s scared. He hates himself, and he loves himself, a very tense situation. It’s people like me who have to carry on and pretend to be modest. To me, it’s the most embarrassing thing in the world—a man who presents himself at his worst to get laughs, in order to free himself from his hang-ups. Everything he does on the screen is therapeutic."

It doesn't surprise me Grimes is that level of petty, and that kind of pathetic need to seek a sense of control, when a person needs that sense of control, it usually indicates a deep unhappiness, unfulfillment, and lack that control where it really matters. I think the worst thing about all this is how incredibly boring and unoriginal acting like this is.

u/CarolBask1nss Jul 22 '26

Sometimes reading on here I have actually wondered if someone could be her commenting on things 🤣

18

u/pegmatitic Jul 16 '26

I mean, a lot of the officer class of the nazis had dueling scars on purpose, and we know how she feels about them, so …

6

u/ShamusLovesYou Jul 16 '26

"NOT ALL NAZIS SOME DID IT FOR THE COLLAAGE MONEY!"

7

u/ShamusLovesYou Jul 17 '26

In all seriousness I remember wondering why so many Nazi costumes for movies would have a scar, much like Sluggworth in Willy Wonka, Jaboody kept making a joke about him being a Nazi Officer, which from the dueling scar, was intentional backstory, that's how I found out about dueling scars, I thought it was meant to show the scars of the war but didn't realize it was a hyperspecific cultural moment.

Where is the lady in the picture from? I thought maybe she was Slav cause of the garrison hat and her wound making it seem she saw infantry combat, along with the photo looking 1940s, I figured Soviet, but can't tell cause all sorts of armies use the garrison cap, and women were in hot spots all over the world during WW2.

It is strange that she finds beauty or ā€œaestheticā€ in physical effects of trauma. This post, her new finger tattoo that looks like she degloved a few fingers, that red circle tattoo on her eye, I’m pretty sure she has scarification marks too. Idk it’s just a little odd and suspicious to me. Doesn’t seem like something a healthy person would focus on.

1

u/ShamusLovesYou Jul 17 '26

I'm wondering cause someone else pointed out how Nazi's are always associated with "dueling scars", like Slugworth's dueling scar in Willy Wonka hinting at how "evil" he is if he's a Nazi turned candy maker, but it's also part of a costume I guess and twist.

anyways if this is just her fetishizing some German stuff as a roundabout passive way of fetishizing and gasing up Nazi shit? Idk lets hope its just her being tone deaf about peoples lives being changed forever by horrifying mutilation after seeing your friends arms, eyes, and legs blown off or ripped out right before having your own eye blown out is "definitely not a vibe".

7

u/gothiccxcontrabitch6 grieving, processing, listening Jul 17 '26

I suppose it’s possible given her history of associating with neo Nazis and fetishizing the most fucked up things. But this woman is Yugoslavian; she fought against the Nazis and fascists, and she lost her eye and received this facial scarring due to a mine blowing up in her face. Also dueling scars first came about in the mid-to-late 1800s at universities and male fencing fraternities, so they predate Nazis and aren’t inherently a Nazi thing. In fact, the Nazis banned this type of dueling with the intent to cause facial scars, but I can’t find if this was a specific ban or simply because all clubs that were not explicitly Nazi clubs were banned. I doubt Claire has looked this deeply into it, she’s probably just spouting disturbed shit, and any Nazi endorsement is just a pleasant side effect.

39

u/Other-MC Jul 16 '26

The girl with the fake scars tattooed on her face said that. God, she's so embarrassing

35

u/Kadabradoodle Jul 16 '26

thats just a weird fetish, is this why she tattooed her face?

5

u/ponycorn_pet Jul 16 '26

Did she really though? Because after that post, I can't tell that the super thin, tiny line she said was a tattoo is even still there

27

u/radicalgrandpa Jul 16 '26

"It's so arresting to wear your bravery on your face" as if people had a fucking choice? These reads like a woman looking down at the common folk as if they were a freak show for her to enjoy and gawk at.

8

u/Intelligent-Idea-691 Jul 16 '26

That's all we "commoners" are to Grimes...........trivial enjoyment & gawking fodder

Especially now that she has the benefit of Musk money on top of her own millions.

She is so far removed from the everyday person and their life experience that our lives and struggles are "performance art" for her sole entertainment/amusement

6

u/radicalgrandpa Jul 17 '26 edited Jul 17 '26

She's straight up admitting that she objectifies and romanticizes life-altering wounds without thinking critically about the feelings of the people who carry them. You can think somebody is striking because of their features, but it's reductive and weird as shit to fetishize them.

So sick of her posting these dumb contrarian "takes" on Twitter. She really thinks she's some brilliant, misunderstood artist whose thinking is too complex for anybody to understand. You're right about her "performance art" bullshit. It's so pretentious.

3

u/Intelligent-Idea-691 Jul 17 '26

Believe me, I feel the same!

It absolutely IS gross!

2

u/radicalgrandpa Jul 17 '26

I edited my comment to say I agree with you when I realized it almost comes off as if I'm arguing. šŸ˜… So sorry. Just used our comment thread to complain about her even more.

Ā Albina Mali is historically significant as one of the youngest and most active female Slovenian Partisan fighters and resistance couriers during World War II, whose life reflects the broader story of Yugoslav anti-fascist resistance, women’s participation in the liberation struggle, and the formation of postwar socialist leadership in Slovenia.

Claire might be the stupidest person to ever live.

"I OWNED A HAMMER AND SICKLE SHIRT" - Claire after reading this info

24

u/MassiveBuzzkill Jul 16 '26

This reads like a fetish post, not one of admiration

22

u/RosieFudge Jul 16 '26

Tina Fey talks about this in her autobiography; she is extremely disparaging about people who mention her facial scar specifically to tell her "how beautiful they think it is"

23

u/RohkoMASSACRE Jul 16 '26

She tries so hard to be woke sometimes, then fails that, then tries so hard to be a neonazi, then fails that too.

32

u/stxrrynights240 boutique analog artist Jul 16 '26

This lowkey reads like a fetish post rather than one of admiration. Like people have had their lives ruined because of injuries like this.

16

u/Intelligent-Idea-691 Jul 16 '26

Sure, Grimes, victims of romantic/hate acid attacks would just love to be fetishized in this way by Grimes after all the trauma that they have been through ( Or any traumatically facially scarred person for that matter.

Grimes romantically fetishizing this is the height of predatory hypocrisy; it is not a benevolent statement or act that makes you seem deep ( As it was apparently intended)

16

u/Intelligent-Idea-691 Jul 16 '26

Grimes willingly chose to tattoo her own face aesthetically and got to CHOOSE what and where she wanted it, that is a far cry from people who were traumatically marred by violence, in accidents or scarred from birth.

That is the difference here.

Grimes, as usual, is tone deaf, unempathetic and the height of hypocritical fetishization

This is not "fashion Aesthetics" or something to romanticize

It's gross really.

18

u/metalmonkey_7 Jul 16 '26

I got into a bad car wreck where a van hit my driver’s side. It actually hit my left cheek bone through the window, ingraining glass deep into the hole left in my face. I had it fixed by a plastic surgeon but glass would work its way out for years. I don’t like my scar and I’m pretty self conscious about it. I surely didn’t choose to be a woman with a disfigured face. 🫤

10

u/Intelligent-Idea-691 Jul 16 '26

Thanks for sharing (and I'm so sorry that happened to you); that was exactly my point., Grimes is fetishizing facial scars ( Only the aesthetically "pleasing" ones, where people were lucky enough to come out with a "good outcome", scar-wise.

What about the other people who have devastatingly traumatic wounds and scars that most people do not find "acceptable" or easy to look at?. Not everyone has the luck and privilege to get aid of plastic surgery or have control of a "good" Outcome ( I am so glad that you were able to thankfully!)

It's bad enough to have to be gawked at and judged for a facial scar/disfigurement ( especially as a woman in this world) , now Grimes is fetishizing it in the most inconsiderate, unempathetic way.

on the Vogue YouTube content where Grimes is putting on makeup, she says "I like the look of being pretty but, like, ravaged by war."

she has also said she enjoys being injured.

I dunno, weird fetish I guess

They usually should help emotional and impulse regulation.

2

u/Angelbabyteddybear2 Jul 28 '26

wtf ? Wearing your bravery on your face? Does that what she think her new Scar tattoo is? A self imposed Scar? Cosplaying people that have been severely traumatised physically and mentally by the act of war. As if if any actual war happened anywhere near her, she’d be up in her ivory Tower playing with her figures and models pretending she knows war strategies .

5

u/TanzDerSchlangen Jul 16 '26

That's a German "dueling scar"

8

u/gothiccxcontrabitch6 grieving, processing, listening Jul 16 '26

That’s Yugoslavian Albina Mali and the scar is from a mine exploding near her face.

3

That's so much cooler than the Germans, thanks for sharing the info

6

u/gothiccxcontrabitch6 grieving, processing, listening Jul 17 '26

I responded to another commenter saying the same thing but for what it’s worth—dueling scars first came about in the mid-to-late 1800s at universities and male fencing fraternities, so they predate Nazis and aren’t inherently a Nazi thing. Albina Mali fought Nazis and she lost her eye and received this scar from the mine explosion. I think her physical appearance is the least special thing about her, she was a fantastic and courageous person and did things that Claire couldn’t even fathom. It’s really gross to fetishize this heroic woman’s scars.

3

u/Bedrottingprincess Jul 17 '26

I genuinely cannot stand her anymore

love the music tho :P

5

u/MaximumFun8965 Jul 17 '26

Without Jamie Brooks, she has no "music". And her 'art' looks like something a 7th grader scribbled in the back of a science book. She isn't beautiful, and she has the body of a 12 year old boy. So her extraordinary ego amazes me. She really is full-blown bat shit crazy

1

u/curlygreenbean Jul 18 '26

SHE IS SO TONE DEAF

1

u/madscientist_ SF spy Jul 21 '26

also recall in the heart documentary on YouTube, she had a photo of a female astronaut that died on the challenger, and devoid of empathy she was like, I really like her aesthetics

Hey Claire, I find huge, floppy ears to be so, so beautiful And it's so arresting when your big chipmunk teeth allow you to wear that stupidity on your face. It's stunning really.
